It\u2019s official: Raye\u2019s sophomore album is coming this year. The British singer and ELLE cover star<\/a> has announced that after much anticipation, her new LP, This Music May Contain Hope, <\/em>is coming this spring. And it\u2019ll arrive just before her U.S. tour dates<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This marks the pop star\u2019s follow-up to her studio debut My 21st Century Blues<\/em>, which landed in 2023 and gave us viral hits like \u201cEscapism.\u201d If her next project is anything like the last, it\u2019s sure to have many more tracks that\u2019ll take over the airwaves. Which songs are on the album? <\/h2>\n

The exact tracklist has not yet been confirmed, but it\u2019ll have 17 songs, including her smash hit, \u201cWhere Is My Husband!\u201d according to a listing for the album on her website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll also have a unique format. According to a press release, This Music May Contain Hope<\/em> is \u201cset in 4 \u2018seasons\u2019 with each side of the vinyl being a different season, [and] takes listeners on a sonic journey that begins with darkness and ends with light.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Raye told ELLE<\/a>, the intro is titled \u201cGirl Under the Gray Cloud,\u201d and the first track is called \u201cI Will Overcome.\u201d She described the latter as \u201cbig and dramatic, and unapologetically so.\u201d She added, \u201cThere\u2019s a lyric in there that says, \u2018Aren\u2019t we all broken people?\u2019 We just perfect how to hide it. But it\u2019s life\u2019s guarantee that we\u2019re all going to die. So am I going to live like this all of my life? I\u2019m not okay right now, but I\u2019ll get there somehow. I\u2019ll overcome.\u201d<\/p>\n

What has Raye said about the album?<\/h2>\n

The singer said in a statement, \u201cMusic is medicine, I\u2019ve always said that. I guess I\u2019m in the process of making medicine for myself that I can share with the world. I want us all to say to ourselves that it\u2019s going to be all right, and I\u2019m going to have faith in the seeds that I\u2019ve planted beneath the snow. I wanted to create something that is a hug, bed, or soft place for that person who needs it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to the announcement, Raye heavily teased the work in her cover story for ELLE\u2019s February 2026 issue<\/a>. The album starts in the \u201creal thick of that lonely place,\u201d she told the magazine, and it\u2019s told from a third-person perspective.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe tells me that it starts in autumn and moves through all four seasons\u2014the narrative arc mirroring her own personal growth, the culmination of the self-work she\u2019s done to right her ship in the last year or so,\u201d deputy editor and features director Kayla Webley Adler, who interviewed Raye, reported in the story.<\/p>\n

The first chapter, \u201cAutumn,\u201d representing that season, is said to be about quick fixes. \u201cThere\u2019s this thing in society about other things being able to fix us. Love is number one, like, \u2018Find love and everything\u2019s going to be okay.\u2019 Or \u2018Drink this wine and everything\u2019s going to be okay,\u2019\u201d Raye told ELLE. \u201cBut actually, the most beautiful lesson that I\u2019ve been learning is self-love, which is so hard. My gosh, being able to spend an evening with yourself, just you, is humbling.<\/p>\n

The lyrics are a little more grounded here than in Raye\u2019s previous album. \u201cA lot of My 21st Century Blues<\/em>, I was up in the clouds, rolling a blunt,\u201d she said. \u201cI like that I\u2019ve come down to earth to write these lyrics. I prefer myself like this. I\u2019ve found discipline and abstinence in my life, and it\u2019s a beautiful thing. I\u2019ll have a nice glass of wine every now and then, but I\u2019m no longer drinking to fix or bury or numb or escape.\u201d<\/p>\n
