Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s lawyer is shedding insight on her mindset as her personal texts with Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> become public.<\/p>\n

When asked whether Lively, 38, is \u201cupset\u201d about friends like Swift, 36, being \u201cdrawn into\u201d her legal drama with Justin Baldoni<\/strong><\/a>, lawyer Sigrid McCawley<\/strong> said that she has \u201cdone everything she can to protect her friends from not being brought into this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the Baldoni parties who brought that evidence into this case. It\u2019s not relevant. What\u2019s relevant is her claims that she was sexually harassed in the workplace and the witnesses are there to see that,\u201d McCawley said outside of the New York City courthouse on Thursday, January 22, per a video obtained by TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

News broke in 2024 that Lively sued It Ends With Us<\/em> costar and director Baldoni for sexual harassment and trying to destroy her reputation<\/a>. Baldoni has denied the allegations and subsequently filed a countersuit, which was dismissed in 2025.<\/p>\n

Swift, meanwhile, has been a longtime friend of Lively\u2019s and allowed her 2020 song \u201cMy Tears Ricochet\u201d to be used in It Ends With Us<\/em>. The pop star has distanced herself from the drama and denied direct involvement with the film.<\/p>\n

Ahead of Baldoni and Lively\u2019s May 2026 trial, private text messages between Lively and Swift<\/a> were released in response to Team Baldoni\u2019s \u201cmotion for summary judgment.\u201d The final text message chain that was released took place on the same day Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou won. You did it,\u201d Swift wrote to Lively in a group chat that included someone listed in the actress\u2019 contacts as \u201cRoy Orbison.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift shared a link to an article on the case and wrote that Lively was \u201cf***[ing] help[ing] so many people who won\u2019t have to go through this ever again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTaylor Swift may be out of the woods when it comes to Blake Lively\u2019s ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni \u2014 but the pair\u2019s friendship has still not bounced back. \u201cThere\u2019s been radio silence between Taylor and Blake since the subpoena was dropped,\u201d a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting that the twosome\u2019s previously close [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cNever has a cancellation been reversed so fast,\u201d Swift wrote. \u201cYou guys don\u2019t understand how rare this is. To have proof and to take the perfect steps to bring that truth to light.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lively replied, \u201cLike. My. God. I love you so much. I would not be ok through any of this if it weren\u2019t for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift went on to note that she received a call from a \u201cPR chick\u201d who \u201cwants to get info to Blake.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat means the world,\u201d Swift said, while Lively agreed, \u201cIt changed my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the documents, a conversation between Swift and Lively seemingly confirmed that there had been a rift in their friendship<\/a> amid the legal battle. In her text message to Swift, Lively noted that she always wanted the \u201copportunity to be a better friend if there\u2019s something I unintentionally did.\u201d Lively also acknowledged that Swift, who was traveling for her worldwide Eras Tour<\/em> at the time, was \u201cbusy and taxed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tUPDATE 5\/14\/25 at 6:57 p.m.\u00a0\u2014 Blake Lively\u2019s legal team filed a new motion to request that Justin Baldoni\u2019s claims about her friend Taylor Swift be stricken from the record, Us Weekly can confirm. In the letter obtained by Us, Lively\u2019s team noted that Baldoni\u2019s letter was filed without \u201cevidentiary support of any kind.\u201d \u201cIt should [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Swift, meanwhile, replied that Lively was \u201cnot wrong, but it\u2019s also not a big deal,\u201d agreeing that she is \u201cexhausted in every avenue of my life.\u201d Swift went on to note that she had been \u201cfeeling a little bit of a shift\u201d in the way Lively spoke to her.<\/p>\n

And it feels awful to be in any way critical of any way you process what you\u2019ve been going through but I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal-speaking friend who talks to me as herself.\u201d<\/p>\n
