RUSH<\/a> singer-bassist Geddy Lee<\/a> isn\u2019t ruling out new music from the band, but says any work in the studio will have to wait until after the legendary prog-rock act\u2019s upcoming reunion tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Music Radar (as transcribed by the Rush Is a Band blog<\/a>), Lee spoke about the possibility of creating new songs with guitarist Alex Lifeson and new drummer Anika Nilles<\/a>, who will be filling the legendary shoes of the late Neil Peart on RUSH\u2019s forthcoming \u201cFifty Something\u201d tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy intent, before we got into this celebration of RUSH\u2019s history, was to put some music together,\u201d said Lee. \u201cNow, I assumed I would be doing that on my own, not with Alex, but when we started jamming, I started seeing the possibility of doing something with Alex \u2014 but all of that went on hold now because there\u2019s too much work. There\u2019s too much work to do for this tour to even think about that. But if we manage to survive the tour, and go back to Canada and have a rest, who knows what\u2019ll happen, but I suspect some music will eventually come out.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if Nilles would be included in any new music, Lee responded, \u201cYeah, especially if Anika can still stand us! [Laughs] It would be fun to see what she can do in a creative situation. Like, that would be fun. But it\u2019s all speculation until it isn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n
