Featured pricing is subject to change.<br \/>\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>In January 2025, my wife and I took my two-year-old daughter to Disney on Ice at Newark\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-nyp-link-source=\"trackonomics\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/clicks.trx-hub.com\/xid\/nypost_01638_nypost?p=https%3A%2F%2Fnypost.com%2F2026%2F01%2F23%2Fticket-sales%2Fdisney-on-ice-review-2026-where-to-buy-tickets-dates%2F&amp;q=https%3A%2F%2Fgo.skimresources.com%3Fid%3D93051X1547088%26xs%3D1%26xcust%3DNYPost-Content-Textlink%26url%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.stubhub.com%2Fprudential-center-tickets%2Fvenue%2F91894&amp;author=Mlevy1nyp&amp;articleID=38195913&amp;event_type=click&amp;publishdate=january%2023%2C%202026&amp;linksource=web&amp;primarytag=disney&amp;contentsection=ticket-sales\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Prudential Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The three of us had a great time and were spellbound by <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/01\/10\/ticket-sales\/disney-on-ice-review-where-to-buy-tickets-schedule-dates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">what I described at the time<\/a> as \u201ca surprisingly high-concept show [that] marries the magic of musical theater and ice skating to create a spectacle for the young ones and an artful \u2014\u00a0sometimes mildly humorous \u2014\u00a0reimagining of modern Disney classics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Couple that with the fact that our little girl went from ambivalent about Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Elsa to full-on worshiping them and a second visit to New Jersey Devils\u2019 home arena was a no-brainer.<\/p>\n<p>We couldn\u2019t have been more right.<\/p>\n<p>Disney on Ice has a number of different shows and this year\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-nyp-link-source=\"trackonomics\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/clicks.trx-hub.com\/xid\/nypost_01638_nypost?p=https%3A%2F%2Fnypost.com%2F2026%2F01%2F23%2Fticket-sales%2Fdisney-on-ice-review-2026-where-to-buy-tickets-dates%2F&amp;q=https%3A%2F%2Fgo.skimresources.com%3Fid%3D93051X1547088%26xs%3D1%26xcust%3DNYPost-Content-Textlink%26url%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.stubhub.com%2Fdisney-on-ice-mickey-s-search-party-tickets%2Fperformer%2F50006679&amp;author=Mlevy1nyp&amp;articleID=38195913&amp;event_type=click&amp;publishdate=january%2023%2C%202026&amp;linksource=web&amp;primarytag=disney&amp;contentsection=ticket-sales\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u2018Mickey\u2019s Search Party\u2019 <\/a>was just different enough from \u201925\u2019s \u2018Frozen and Encanto\u2019 to justify the trek to the Garden State.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re on the fence about attending one of these \u2018Disney on Ice\u2019 programs with a young one, here\u2019s a closer look at what the show is like and, most importantly, how interested our toddler was in the show.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">\u2018Mickey\u2019s Search Party\u2019 opening<\/h2>\n<p>Early on in the easy-to-understand for tots storyline, Mickey and the gang establish they have to save Tinkerbell in a high-energy opening sequence complete with audience participation, graceful skating and Mickey hilariously asking \u201chow we doing Newark?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From the jump, our daughter was much, much more excited about the proceedings than she was last year. A goofy grin stretched across her face as she bore witness to the perfect level of mischief, mayhem and silliness for kids.<\/p>\n<p>Heck, I even whispered to my wife \u201cthis is like an \u2018intro to slapstick\u2019 course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>8\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 10\/10<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">\u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Don\u2019t worry about the \u201cfinding Tinkerbell\u201d narrative too much. Your kids won\u2019t and if you allow yourself to be taken by the acrobatic moves the gifted skaters pull off while dressed as Disney characters (!), there\u2019s more than enough entertainment to be had.<\/p>\n<p>So, now that Tinkerbell is out of mind (she won\u2019t appear again for awhile), let\u2019s focus on the \u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d section of the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>My wife, who is a bit of a skating fanatic, pointed out spirals, triple loops and layback spins that Belle pulled off with relative ease. Having watched quite a bit of professional competitions with her, this seemed on par if more impressive than what even the most elite athletes deliver at the highest level of the sport.<\/p>\n<p>Hyperbole? Maybe <em>but<\/em> when Lumiere and Cogsworth pop in for comic relief followed by silverware skating to Disney\u2019s all-time greatest banger \u201cBe My Guest\u201d (fight me on that one) and it\u2019s hard not to be anything but wowed.<\/p>\n<p>The only problem was our daughter\u2019s investment in the show was beginning to wane. She wasn\u2019t familiar with these characters. Regardless of how cool what was happening on the ice, the kid needed to see faces she knew.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>9\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 7\/10<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"> <span class=\"credit\">Matt Levy<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">\u201cToy Story\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>While \u201cToy Story\u201d isn\u2019t part of my kid\u2019s media diet yet, the inventive graphics, aerial acrobatics and the crowd stomping their feet for the green army men and Woody certainly made her perk up.<\/p>\n<p>This certainly deviated from last year\u2019s \u201cToy Story\u201d-less show; here, the military men climbed fire poles (this looked harder than actual boot camp where you <em>don\u2019t<\/em> wear skates), marched in formation and wheeled out Legos. That\u2019s all they needed to do to impress my kid.<\/p>\n<p>The very existence of the Lego\u2019s brought her right back.<\/p>\n<p>What impressed me most was the inflatable Rex; I could barely walk in a Grimace costume with cut-out eyeholes on Halloween.<\/p>\n<p>A large ball was tossed into the crowd, which reminded me of the recent, viral <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ykv4yrleuBM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DisneyWorld Indiana Jones debacle<\/a> but nothing of the sort happened at Prudential Center. Fun, energetic stuff all around here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>9.5\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 8.5\/10<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"> <span class=\"credit\">Matt Levy<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">\u201cMoana\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Within moments, the lighting team reset from Andy\u2019s bedroom to the fictional tropical island of Motunui in Polynesia. The new scene featured Moana sailing on a boat in one of the show\u2019s most impressive technical feats (and a nice use of Prudential Center\u2019s flexible multipurpose space).<\/p>\n<p>Our \u201cMoana\u201d belted (well, lip-synced) a sweet revue of greatest hits that ran the gamut of impactful and light; heavy yet jaunty. <\/p>\n<p>Like last year, pyrotechnics were worked into the show again. As impressed as I was by the fire and ice, my daughter was unmoved. Once again, she\u2019s not quite into \u201cMoana\u201d at this age and the eye-popping visuals and catchy songs didn\u2019t move her.<\/p>\n<p>Her loss. This rocked.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>10\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 6\/10<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"> <span class=\"credit\">Matt Levy<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Inter-\u201cStitch\u201d-al<\/h2>\n<p>For a quick moment, Stitch rocked out on guitar; injecting some life into the show. Sure, the visuals were stunning but we were missing levity.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the non-character hosts lost us.<\/p>\n<p>As charismatic as these non-characters were \u2014\u00a0they taught an audience member how to play guitar \u2014\u00a0 the kids need the faces they know to stay engaged. While brief (and likely to make sure the characters were well-rested\/equipped for costume changes), this was easily the low moment of the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>5\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 3\/10<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">\u201cCoco\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019re so back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoco\u201d gave the show a freewheeling, stripped-down energy complete with more climbing, limber skaters oscillating and waving on stilts <em>and <\/em>20-feet skeletons on ice that put the Halloween decorations in our neighborhood to shame.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, \u201cDisney on Ice\u201d has captured the spectacle of film while marrying musical theater to the ice. This was a full sensory experience that could only be described as magical.<\/p>\n<p>I must have pointed and said \u201clook at that!\u201d to my daughter at least five times during this segment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>10\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 6\/10<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Intermission<\/h2>\n<p>This was much needed. Kids get antsy after awhile and my little girl was no exception.<\/p>\n<p>Families filed out in droves to go to the bathrooms, grab snacks and merch (my daughter scored an oversized Olaf mug that she instantly fell in love with).<\/p>\n<p>We rushed back to the seats and the back half of the show began.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">\u201cPeter Pan\u201d\/\u201dAladdin\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>We meet Captain Hook after the break who gives the mostly harmless ice show a bit of menace. <\/p>\n<p>No sign of Tinkerbell yet but a slightly educational bit teaching kids how to use clues really worked for me as a parent. Nice to see something of substance.<\/p>\n<p>Things veer off from here a bit (like I said earlier, don\u2019t think about the story too hard) and the gang brings a young audience member out to rub the lamp and bring the genie from \u201cAladdin\u201d onto the ice. This is a real greatest hits!<\/p>\n<p>Gymnasts flip on trampolines, jump over fellow cast mates like old pros and make stilts on ice look easy; they\u2019re really bringing the circus to us in this chunk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>8\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 6.5\/10<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">\u201cLittle Mermaid\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Wow.<\/p>\n<p>Just when you think \u201cDisney on Ice\u2019 has played all their hands, they bust out the \u201cLittle Mermaid,\u201d which is an aquatic, bubbly blast with no shortage of eye candy on display.<\/p>\n<p>Characters mime swimming, the ice resembles the high seas and, in the show\u2019s high-water mark, Ariel is held upside down by Eric in a dual twirling aerial that left us stunned.<\/p>\n<p>To paint a clearer picture, Ariel held on by Eric\u2019s skates <em>in the air<\/em>. This was more than an athletic feat; she defied gravity. Adults (myself included) clapped heartily. We knew this wasn\u2019t normal.<\/p>\n<p>Kids might not have been quite as enamored but that\u2019s their loss.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>10\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 5\/10<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">\u201cFrozen\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>In the grand finale, snow floated down from the rafters.<\/p>\n<p>Like last year, the fan favorite \u201cFrozen\u201d was a major part of \u201cDisney on Ice.\u201d However, this year, things weren\u2019t quite the same.<\/p>\n<p>To begin, the Arandelle fellers carted ice around while skaters jumped on half pipes. Now was my time for my daughter to chime in. \u201cI can do that\u201d she told me confidently.<\/p>\n<p>Then, that unmistakable grin returned to her face when Olaf and Elsa glided into the spotlight. This is what we came for!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>9\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 9.5\/10<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Grand finale<\/h2>\n<p>Talk about a sensory overload.<\/p>\n<p>To close the show, all the characters (including cut-for-time players from \u201cTangled\u201d and \u201cSnow White\u201d because why not) found Tinkerbell and cheerily danced. <\/p>\n<p>Sorry for the spoiler.<\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, this was exactly the whiz bang, confetti-heavy high we needed to go out on and left Newark already excited to come back again next year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entertainment level: <\/strong>8\/10<br \/><strong>Kid\u2019s interest level:<\/strong> 10\/10<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Final verdict<\/h2>\n<p>What a blast. \u2018Mickey\u2019s Search Party\u2019 is lots of fun, fast-moving, good-natured and a nice mix of rip-roaring nostalgia and new-school sheen.<\/p>\n<p>The only caveat? Making sure your kid has at least a little familiarity with the characters. Just a few characters lacing up their skates for the show include Moana, Miguel from \u201cCoco\u201d and Rapunzel of \u201cTangled\u201d fame.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p>We found a show that intentionally) runs hot and cold.<\/p>\n<p>Fans of \u201cFrozen\u201d and \u201cEncanto\u201d will be delighted to find a showcase of both films along with appearances from other old standbys like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Arielle and Belle.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p>Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy jet off on a \u201chigh-tech, interactive\u201d trek along with friendly faces from \u201cMary Poppins,\u201d \u201cAladdin,\u201d \u201cMoana,\u201d \u201cThe Lion King,\u201d \u201cFrozen\u201d and \u201cToy Story 4.\u201d Allegedly, there\u2019s also a princess dance party.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p>There\u2019s no holding back at Jump In! Here, all your time-honored favorites like Moana and the \u201cInside Out 2,\u201d \u201cToy Story,\u201d \u201cFrozen\u201d and \u201cEncanto\u201d squads join forces for an entertaining show that will leave you with a smile on your face.
