Harry Styles<\/a> says his upcoming album is inspired by seeing LCD Soundsystem<\/a> at a festival in Madrid.<\/p>\n The soloist and former\u00a0One Direction<\/a>\u00a0star\u00a0released his new single \u2018Aperture\u2019 yesterday<\/a> (Thursday January 22). It\u2019s the first from his upcoming fourth solo album, \u2018Kiss All The Time. Disco Occasionally\u2019<\/a>\u00a0which has been executive produced by\u00a0Kid Harpoon<\/a>\u00a0and is set for release on March 6.\u00a0Visit here to pre-order<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018Aperture\u2019 notably debuts a new electronic-inspired sound for Styles, whose last LP was the synth-pop influenced \u2018Harry\u2019s House<\/a>\u2018 in 2022.<\/p>\n In an interview with Greg James on BBC Radio 1 this morning (Friday January 23), the singer has explained that seeing LCD Soundsystem live inspired his new direction.<\/p>\n \u201cI went to see LCD Soundsystem a couple times,\u201d he told James. \u201cI saw them at a festival in Madrid, that was in like a car park, basically, and then, and then I saw them again at Brixton, and it was just, it\u2019s like, so joyous.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd when you\u2019re kind of watching them be so like immersed in it, I was, I think the inspiration from them came of like, \u2018oh, that\u2019s how I want to feel when I\u2019m on stage\u2019. And then that kind of led to the kind of music I was making,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Styles went on to say he was also listening to The Durutti Column and going out more, which also inspired his new direction. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of like an like an energy of what I wanted to feel when I was playing,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n
