Back in December, he recalls, he was riding high with nominations from the British Independent Film Awards and Gotham Awards for his role in the gay Bdsm drama \u201cPillion<\/a>.\u201d Plus, he thought he could successfully start a \u201csmear campaign\u201d against his famous father, Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/a>, who has also been in the awards race for the familial drama \u201cSentimental Value<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I could take that motherfucker down\u2026 Life was fucking great,\u201d Alexander said in a hilariously self-deprecating speech at Variety\u2019s Cover Party at Sundance presented by United Airlines<\/a>. \u201cI was riding high.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then things took a turn. \u201cI didn\u2019t win a British Independent Film Awards. I didn\u2019t win a Gotham<\/a>. I wasn\u2019t nominated for anything else.
