\n\tSeveral well-known music artists have turned to ElevenLabs<\/a>\u2018 AI as a virtual muse \u2014 and record producer.<\/p>\n

\n\tElevenLabs on Wednesday launched \u201cThe Eleven Album,\u201d which the artificial-intelligence audio research and product company touted as the result of an unprecedented partnership with flesh-and-blood artists \u2014 like Liza Minelli and Art Garfunkel<\/a> \u2014 to \u201cco-create\u201d original music with its AI-based model for generating \u201cstudio-quality compositions.\u201d The album is available to stream at elevenlabs.io\/eleven-album<\/a> and on Spotify.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to the company, its Eleven Music system can generate full compositions from simple prompts and can help artists \u201cspark new ideas and accelerate their creative workflows.\u201d The Eleven Music model also can let musicians edit tracks with \u201cgranular control,\u201d adjusting lyrics, timing and instrumentation, as well as download up to six studio-quality stems for additional mixing and arrangement.<\/p>\n

\n\tEleven Music lets artists \u201cuse AI to expand their creative range while maintaining full authorship and commercial rights,\u201d according to ElevenLabs. The artists who participated in \u201cThe Eleven Album\u201d project released their tracks through their own streaming channels, which ensures \u201call streaming revenue goes back to the artists, reflecting ElevenLabs\u2019 commitment to creator control, consent and fair compensation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Eleven Album\u201d project spans multiple genres, including rap, pop, R&B and EDM. The album includes original tracks from Liza Minnelli<\/a>; Art Garfunkel; Patrick Patrikios; Willonius; IAMSU!; Demitri Leiros; Emily Falvey; Sunsetto; Kondzilla; Chris Lyons; Michael Feinstein; and AI music artists Kai and Angelbaby.<\/p>\n

\n\tMinelli\u2019s track, \u201cKids Wait Till You Hear This,\u201d is an EDM track that features her repeating the title and the phrase, \u201cAll eyes on you,\u201d ending with: \u201cAll eyes on me.\u201d (It\u2019s her actual voice \u2014 not an AI re-creation, according to her rep.)<\/p>\n

\n\tMinnelli, 79, in a statement provided by ElevenLabs, said, \u201cI\u2019ve always believed that music is about connection and emotional truth. What interested me here was the idea of using my voice and new tools in service of expression, not instead of it. This project respects the artist\u2019s voice, the artist\u2019s choices, and the artist\u2019s ownership. I grew up watching my parents create wonderful dreams that were owned by other people. ElevenLabs makes it possible for anyone to be a creator and owner. That matters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, Garfunkel\u2019s \u201cAuthorship\u201d is a spoken-word track, backed by a gentle piano melody and the sound of falling rain \u201cMusic has always evolved alongside technology, from microphones to multitrack recording,\u201d Garfunkel, the 84-year-old singer-songwriter who was once a close collaborator with Paul Simon, said in a statement. \u201cWhat impressed me about this experience was the respect for musicianship. The human remains at the center. My voice plus the technology simply opens another door.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth Minelli and Garfunkel are participants in ElevenLabs\u2019 Iconic Voice Marketplace, which lets companies request access to AI-generated voices of celebrities for campaigns, partnerships and creative initiatives.<\/p>\n

\n\tElevenLabs previously announced deals with Kobalt Music and Merlin to allow artists and songwriters they represent to participate in the development of Eleven Music models and AI music revenue streams.<\/p>\n

\n\tElevenLabs recently announced a partnership with Matthew McConaughey<\/a>, who also invested an undisclosed amount in the company, to use ElevenLabs\u2019 technology to create a Spanish-language audio version of his newsletter \u201cLyrics of Livin\u2019\u201d in his own voice.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this year the company announced a $100 million tender offer to let its employees cash out their stock, a transaction that valued the company at $6.6 billion, double its Series C funding-round valuation at the beginning of 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
