Hulu<\/a> has set the premiere date for \u201cThe Testaments<\/a>,\u201d the followup to the streamer\u2019s hit series adaptation of \u201cThe Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Testaments<\/a>\u201d will drop its first three episodes on April 8, with new episodes dropping weekly thereafter. Like \u201cThe Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/a>,\u201d the new show is based on the Margaret Atwood<\/a> novel of the same name.<\/p>\n

The official synopsis of the series describes it as \u201ca dramatic coming of age story set in Gilead.\u201d It is said to follow \u201cyoung teens Agnes (Chase Infiniti<\/a>), dutiful and pious, and Daisy (Lucy Halliday<\/a>), a new arrival and convert from beyond Gilead\u2019s borders. As they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia\u2019s (Ann Dowd<\/a>) elite preparatory school for future wives, a place where obedience is instilled brutally and always with divine justification, their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present, and their future.\u201d<\/p>\n
