Pitlochry Festival Theatre announces more events for 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n In addition to the impressive programme already announced for Alan Cumming\u2019s inaugural season as Artistic Director at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, the Theatre has today unveiled additional events scheduled throughout the year, highlighting a diverse array of Scotland\u2019s foremost creative talent.<\/p>\n Featuring an electric line up of dance, theatre and music performances the exciting events will commence in March with\u00a0Scottish Roots<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>(14 March) \u2013 an exciting new triple bill by\u00a0Scottish Dance Theatre<\/strong>\u00a0that will invite audiences to experience the thrill of bodies in motion and the pulse of music that bridges tradition and innovation. From the haunting\u00a0O Chiadain An Lo\u00a0<\/em>(with music by Skye piper Br\u00ecghde\u00a0Chaimbeul), to the wild joy of\u00a0Moving Cloud\u00a0<\/em>(with music by folk group TRIP), and the premiere of\u00a0Off-Season<\/em>, a brand-new creation by Edinburgh-based choreographer\u00a0Tess Letham, the not to be missed evening is set to be a celebration of four decades of passion, creativity and connection from Scotland\u2019s leading dance company.<\/p>\n Scottish Dance Theatre are set to return to Pitlochry Festival Theatre in September for\u00a0Little Ray (<\/em>15 September),\u00a0<\/em>a dance performance created especially for young children aged 3\u20135. Developed in collaboration with early years specialists\u00a0Starcatchers<\/strong>\u00a0and designed as a shared experience for children and their grown-ups through movement, music and gentle interaction,\u00a0Little Ray<\/em>\u00a0is a playful dance performance exploring the many\u00a0many\u00a0things we humans feel.<\/p>\n On Saturday 21 March Pitlochry Festival Theatre is set to host one of Scotland\u2019s finest vocal ensembles,\u00a0Edinburgh University Chamber Choir<\/strong>\u00a0as they bring a fabulous programme of folksong, madrigals, sacred anthems, and everything in between to the Theatre\u2019s auditorium. The repertoire\u00a0spans hundreds of years,\u00a0including a performance of Poulenc\u2019s \u2018Sept Chansons\u2019, one of the composer\u2019s earlier works, and indeed one of his first forays into choral composition.<\/p>\n Later in March, the Theatre will welcome two of the Highlands’ most respected musicians,\u00a0Gary Innes and Ewen Henderson<\/strong>\u00a0(28 March), as they celebrate 20 years of playing together with a special anniversary concert for what promises to be a memorable evening of tunes, songs, reminiscences and craic!\u00a0 From their early days playing dances and weddings across the Highlands to touring the world with M\u00e0nran, Gary and Ewen have\u00a0established themselves as prominent figures in Scottish traditional music.<\/p>\n Other events throughout 2026 include the return of A Play A Pie A Pint with Milly Sweeney\u2019s\u00a0(Best Writer \u2013 The Stage Debut Awards 2025 for\u00a0Water Colour<\/em>\u00a0at Pitlochry Festival Theatre) new play \u00a0Someone\u2019s Knockin\u2019 at the Door<\/em>\u00a0(18-22 March), comedians\u00a0Susie McCabe<\/strong>\u00a0(8 May) and\u00a0Fred MacAulay<\/strong>\u00a0(30 Oct), and music from\u00a0The Legends of American Country Show<\/em>\u00a0(17 April) and the\u00a0SNYJO<\/strong>\u00a0(Scottish National Jazz Orchestra) \u2013\u00a0Big Band Jazz in the Afternoon<\/em>\u00a0(17 May).
