Billie Eilish<\/a> has urged other famous people to speak out about ICE\u2019s actions in Minnesota.<\/p>\n The pop star took to her Instagram Stories<\/a> amid what the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has described as \u201cthe largest mass deportation operation in American history\u201d.<\/p>\n She also shared a video<\/a> from her brother and collaborator Finneas<\/a> about the death of Alex Pretti at the hands of ICE. He called out conservatives\u2019 hypocritical gun law arguments in attempting to justify the fatal shooting of the 37-year-old nurse.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was like, \u2018Well, [Pretti] had a gun\u2019. Shut the fuck up!\u201d he said. \u201cYou\u2019ve spent 30 years straight telling us that children have to die so that we\u2019re allowed to legally carry weapons, everywhere in the United States.<\/p>\n \u201cThis guy was being beaten to a pulp on the ground. He didn\u2019t draw his weapon; he had a weapon on him. Legally! And they shot the fuck out of him, and killed him.\u201d<\/p>\n Eilish\u2019s post read: \u201cHey my fellow celebrities u gonna speak up? Or\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Following Pretti\u2019s death, Olivia Rodrigo<\/a> also used Instagram Stories to share her thoughts on the situation. \u201cICE\u2019s actions are unconscionable, but we are not powerless,\u201d she wrote. \u201cOur actions matter. I stand with Minnesota.\u201d<\/p>\n She reshared an Instagram story from political commentator Ben Sheehan, too. However, carrying a gun is a right guaranteed by Minnesota state law and the Second Amendment.<\/p>\n Eilish criticised ICE earlier this month<\/a> after Renee Good was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She shared a post calling the agency a \u201cfederally funded and supported terrorist group\u201d that was \u201ctearing apart families, terrorising citizens, and now murdering innocent people\u201d.<\/p>\n The singer also reposted a call on the US to \u201cabolish ICE\u201d, listing 32 people who reportedly died in ICE custody last year.<\/p>\n The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) subsequently responded to Eilish<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s garbage rhetoric from the likes of Billie Eilish that is leading to a 1,300 per cent increase in assaults and 3,200 per cent increase in vehicle rammings against our brave law enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n Eilish has long been vocal in her opposition to Trump\u2019s policies, and has been an advocate for gun control in America,\u00a0speaking out after the Brown University shooting in December<\/a>.<\/p>\n She previously appeared alongside a host of artists<\/a> in an\u00a0Artist For Action To Prevent Gun Violence<\/a> video, calling for gun control in 2023.
