Songs from several artists with Island roots are set to release this Friday, Jan. 30. Here is a little bit about the new music releasing this week:<\/span><\/p>\n Iam Tongi.<\/strong> The \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d winner<\/u><\/a> who grew up in Kahuku, has announced his new single, \u201cEyes for You,\u201d which releases on Friday. The video about the song posted on social media today features his fianc\u00e9. The duo made their engagement Instagram official in late December.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Recently, Tongi caught up with Aloha State Daily<\/a> and shared inspiration for music, advice from an auntie and reflections on his debut at the Grand Ole Opry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The popular singer and songwriter has North Shore roots and more than 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He recently sang \u201cHawaiian Roller Coaster Ride\u201d<\/u><\/a> with the Kamehameha Schools Children\u2019s Chorus for Disney\u2019s live action \u201cLilo & Stitch,\u201d<\/u><\/a> which was released in May of 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n Follow Tongi on Spotify<\/u><\/a> and Instagram<\/u><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Jake Shimabukuro. <\/strong>The N\u0101 H\u014dk\u016b Hanohano<\/span> Award winning \u02bbukulele virtuoso<\/u><\/a> has announced his new album, \u201cCalm Seas,\u201d set to release this Friday.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis project was an eye opening, healing project for me,\u201d he shared in a post on Instagram. \u201cIt rekindled my relationship with nature. Each track features meditative soundscapes, in tandem with the \u2018Ukulele, all recorded in Hawai\u2019i. Slow down, reflect, and let nature lead the pacing of our lives.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Shimabukuro\u2019s music<\/u><\/span><\/a> took off after his \u2018ukulele version of \u201cWhile My Guitar Gently Weeps\u201d went viral on YouTube and launched his touring career. Today, he is considered one of the best \u2018ukulele players in the world and has more than 660,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.<\/span><\/p>\n Follow Shimabukuro on Spotify<\/u><\/a> and Instagram<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n Kanaka Fyah. <\/strong>The up-and-coming reggae band Kanaka Fyah announced its newest song, \u201cMorning Sun,\u201d which is a collaboration with BraddaHoodz and drops this Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n Randin Napeahi<\/u><\/span><\/a>, who wrote the band\u2019s popular single \u201cOnly Jah Jah Knows\u201d spoke with ASD about that song in October ahead of the band\u2019s performance at the Holo Holo Music Festival on O\u2019ahu. He wrote the group\u2019s No. 1 hit \u2014 which has more than 14.7 million streams on Spotify\u2014\u00a0while traveling Saddle Road on the way home from a gig on Hawai\u2019i Island. The first version of \u201cOnly Jah Jah Knows\u201d was captured via a voice memo on Napeahi\u2019s phone, while he simultaneously wrote lyrics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Today, the band has more than 445,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
