The documentary follows a group of Girl Scouts as they sell snacks to support their troop. It premiered at the weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex making a surprise appearance at the event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
After they met Meghan, several of the youngsters revealed what she was like, with Girl Scout Nikki B saying: \u201cIt feels, like, crazy. I always read about them in my books, like, oh, the princesses and kings, and then I actually get to meet one. Nikki\u2019s older sister Nala, added: \u201cWhen I first found out that I was meeting the Duke and duchess, I was like, \u2018Are you serious? Are you sure?\u2019 But yeah, I\u2019m really excited. I\u2019m so stoked.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The show’s director, Alysa Nahmias, spoke about how important the Girl Scouts industry is and the life skills it teaches young girls. She explained: \u201cThe cookies are a \u00a3600 million [a year] business that\u2019s very profitable, and these girls are doing that and they\u2019re making a cut of that [for their troupes]. But at what cost?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
She went on: \u201cParents and the Girl Scouts organisation and the girls themselves. But also, I think it\u2019s a broader social question, right? About kids and pressure and how early kids are introduced to participation in the economy\u2026 It\u2019s a crash course in capitalism for young people.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
According to sources, the Duchess had been “swamped with offers” after walking away from her acting career eight years ago to marry into the Royal Family. She famously played paralegal Rachel Zane in the hit US legal drama, Suits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
