Singer-songwriter Billie Eilish is calling out \u201cfellow celebrities\u201d for staying silent about the recent and repeated tragedies in Minneapolis amid ICE\u2019s actions. <\/p>\n

In a post on Instagram, the nine-time Grammy winner shared a photo of herself with the caption: \u201chey my fellow celebrities u gonna speak up? Or…\u201d. <\/p>\n

Her post was preceded by ones regarding the death of Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old ICU nurse who was fatally shot by ICE agents on Saturday<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

Pretti, who was peacefully protesting and trying to assist individuals near the agents, was tackled to the ground and shot 10 times in the space of a few seconds. <\/p>\n

Much like the murder of Renee Good a few weeks prior<\/strong><\/a>, the killing has been legitimatized by Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as \u201cself-defence\u201d – despite no evidence provided that Pretti ever drew his legally-owned weapon and video footage proving that Pretti was defenceless before being repeatedly shot. <\/p>\n

The Trump administration cited Pretti\u2019s decision to legally carry a gun as evidence that he was looking for a violent confrontation with officers. However, carrying a gun is a right guaranteed by Minnesota state law, as well as the Second Amendment.<\/p>\n

The tragedy has prompted mass protests<\/strong><\/a>, and several celebrities at Sundance Film Festival have spoken out on the tragedy<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

However, more needs to be done according to Eilish, and silence is not an option. <\/p>\n

Her brother and frequent collaborator, Finneas, shared a video, which Eilish also reposted. \u201cThe conservative argument that allows school shootings to continue has always basically boiled down to, \u2018We have to protect the Second Amendment,’\u201d said Finneas in the clip. \u201cEvery argument I\u2019ve seen for why Alex Pretti\u2019s death was justified yesterday is like, \u2018Well he had a gun.’\u201d <\/p>\n

Finneas continues: \u201cThis guy was being beaten to a pulp on the ground. He didn\u2019t draw his weapon. He had a weapon on him legally. And they still shot the f*ck out of him!\u201d <\/p>\n

Several stars have spoken out, including Mark Ruffalo<\/strong><\/a>, Natalie Portman<\/strong><\/a> and Bruce Springsteen<\/strong><\/a>, as well as pop star Olivia Rodrigo, who took to her Instagram stories to write that ICE\u2019s actions were \u201cunconscionable,\u201d adding that \u201cwe are not powerless.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cOur actions matter,\u201d added Rodrigo. \u201cI stand with Minnesota.\u201d <\/p>\n

She also reshared a story from political commentator Ben Sheehan, who described ICE as a \u201cmurderous federal agency terrorising an American city\u201d and called on the Senate to block any additional funding for the agency. <\/p>\n

Eilish haspreviously criticised ICE after Renee Good was fatally shot<\/strong><\/a> in Minneapolis. She shared a post calling the agency a \u201cfederally funded and supported terrorist group\u201d that was \u201ctearing apart families, terrorising citizens, and now murdering innocent people\u201d. <\/p>\n

The singer also reposted a call on the US to \u201cabolish ICE\u201d, listing 32 people who reportedly died in ICE custody last year. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
