Baby won\u2019t be in the corner for much longer as Lionsgate<\/a>\u2019s planned Dirty Dancing<\/a> sequel moves forward.<\/p>\n

The studio announced Tuesday that producers Nina Jacobson<\/a> and Brad Simpson<\/a> will oversee the feature project that is aiming to begin production later this year. Additionally, Kim Rosenstock<\/a> (Dying<\/a> for Sex) is writing the script.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Grey<\/a> was previously announced to executive produce and reprise her role of Frances \u201cBaby\u201d Houseman that originated in director Emile Ardolino<\/a>\u2019s 1987 original movie that also starred the late Patrick Swayze<\/a>. A director has not been announced, as Jonathan Levine<\/a>, who was previously attached to helm the sequel, is still set to serve as executive producer but will not direct.<\/p>\n

Jacobson<\/a> and Simpson\u2019s production company Color Force<\/a> is currently behind Lionsgate\u2019s The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/a>, set to hit theaters Nov. 20, 2026. They are also executive producers on Ryan Murphy<\/a>\u2019s forthcoming…<\/p>\n
