Concerts for the free Hawaiian Music Series will return to Lahaina this year at a new location on the lawn of Waiola Church at 535 Wainee St.<\/p>\n
The first free, family-friendly concert of 2026 is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and will feature acclaimed Maui musician Joshua Kahula. Free parking will be available on site.<\/p>\n
Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets, mats or low-back beach chairs to enjoy the music on the grass.<\/p>\n
Born and raised in Makawao, Kahula is a respected vocalist and songwriter with deep roots in Hawaiian music and culture.<\/p>\n
Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has performed with well-known local bands including Ho\u2019omau, Nuff Sedd, Pono and Kahalawai. His sound blends traditional Hawaiian mele with contemporary influences such as reggae, funk, R&B and rock, creating a style that resonates with audiences of all ages.<\/p>\n
Following the 2023 Lahaina wildfires, Kahula co-wrote \u201cE Ola Maui,\u201d a song of healing and resilience created to support community recovery efforts.<\/p>\n

Now in its 18th year, the series is made possible through the support of the Maui County Office of Economic Development, with Waiola Church providing the venue for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n
