He captioned a media carousel featuring highlights of the event in pictures and video with, \u201cMexico City you guys showed UP. I\u2019m truly blown away by your love and support for this film. Couldn\u2019t have asked for a better welcome.\u00a0<\/strong>Thank you all!!!,\u201d and the movie\u2019s account on the social media platform added, \u201cMexico City loves Mercy\u201d in the post\u2019s comments section.<\/p>\nAt the New York premiere of Mercy, Chris insisted that artificial intelligence will not end his acting career. The star, who blasted AI \u201cactress\u201d Tilly Norwood<\/strong>, told Variety, \u201cI don\u2019t feel like someone\u2019s going to replace me, that\u2019s AI.\u00a0<\/strong>This Tilly Norwood thing, I think it\u2019s all bulls***. I\u2019ve never seen her in a movie, I don\u2019t know who this b**** is. It\u2019s all fake, until it\u2019s something.\u201d<\/p>\nLast year, Tilly\u2019s creator, Eline van der Velden<\/strong>, said the character had not been made to replace humans. She said, \u201cTo those who have expressed anger over the creation of my AI character, Tilly Norwood: she is not a replacement for a human being, but a creative work, a piece of art<\/strong>,\u201d adding that, \u201cLike many forms of art before her, she sparks conversation, and that in itself shows the power of creativity.\u201d<\/p>\nVan der Velden continued, \u201cI see AI not as a replacement for people, but as a new tool, a new paintbrush,\u201d and compared it to other filmmaking tools by saying, \u201cJust as animation, puppetry, or CGI opened fresh possibilities without taking away from live acting, AI offers another way to imagine and build stories.\u201d She also noted, \u201cI\u2019m an actor myself, and nothing, certainly not an AI character, can take away the craft or joy of human performance.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\nShe went on, \u201cCreating Tilly has been, for me, an act of imagination and craftsmanship, not unlike drawing a character, writing a role, or shaping a performance,\u201d before adding, \u201cIt takes time, skill, and iteration to bring such a character to life. She represents experimentation, not substitution.\u201d Van der Velden concluded, \u201cMuch of my work has always been about holding up a mirror to society through satire, and this is no different.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
