\u201cLate Show\u201d host Stephen Colbert<\/a> on Wednesday said President Donald Trump<\/a> tried to dispel concerns about his health by speaking to a reporter from New York magazine<\/a> for an interview that was published earlier this week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cUnfortunately the interview went sideways almost immediately,\u201d Colbert said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Trump during the interview appeared to forget the word \u201cAlzheimer\u2019s\u201d<\/a> while denying he had the disease, instead pointing to his head and letting White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt<\/a> come up with the word. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cNot a great sign there,\u201d Colbert said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m certainly not saying Donald Trump has Alzheimer\u2019s, but I feel like he definitely has some-zheimer\u2019s.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Trump, who turns 80 this year, has faced growing concerns<\/a> about his health since returning to the White House. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n He\u2019s seemingly had flagging energy levels<\/a> during White House events, at times appearing to doze off<\/a>. He\u2019s been seen with bruises on his hand<\/a>, which he has said is from using aspirin<\/a> and shaking a lot of hands. The president has also had noticeably swollen ankles, which the White House has said is due to chronic venous insufficiency<\/a>, which involves poor blood flow from the legs back to the heart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n But some of the biggest questions have been about his cognitive health, with critics \u2015 especially Democrats<\/a> \u2015 suggesting he\u2019s in decline or worse<\/a>. Rep. Nancy Pelosi<\/a> (D-Calif.), a former House speaker, said earlier this month that Trump is demonstrating \u201cmental incapacity<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Even two members of his previous administration have said they\u2019ve seen signs of his decline<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Trump tried to answer those critics in the new interview \u2015 but Colbert didn\u2019t find it very convincing. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Check it out in the Tuesday night monologue: <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
