Hip-hop trio Digable Planets<\/strong> formed in 1987 and, along with groups like A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul, helped create and popularize the jazz rap genre. Their first album featured the top-40 hit \u201cRebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat),\u201d which sampled jazz musician Art Blakey. The group will perform at Memorial Union\u2019s Shannon Hall, 800 Langdon St., with experimental rapper MIKE<\/strong> in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.\u2019s legacy. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is free to attend, but tickets are required.<\/p>\n

Madison Circus Space, 2082 Winnebago St., originally mounted this zany show, which draws on polka music and the antics of silent films, in April 2025. This souped-up version features \u201cmore aerial artistry, powerful acrobatics, masterful juggling and epic dance numbers.\u201d Performance start at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dane County\u2019s hog is named Jimmy, and he\u2019s got a pretty good track record of predicting whether spring is near.
