Looney\u2019s Amphitheater Complex and Cultural Center, nestled in the heart of Bankhead National Forest, is marking its return as a live entertainment destination with a full slate of concerts and special events planned for 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n The venue, which reopened after years of inactivity, will host monthly bluegrass concerts inside the Dual Destiny Theater on the first Saturday of each month throughout the year. Each show will feature two bands and run from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $10 per person at the door, with children 12 and under admitted free. Concessions will be available. More information can be obtained by calling (205) 489-6569.<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to the concert series, Looney\u2019s will be involved in several community events. The Winston County Arts Council will host the 13th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Double Springs Municipal Building, located at 23415 Highway 195. Doors open at 5 p.m., and tickets are $15 per person, with free admission for children 12 and under.<\/span><\/p>\n The Prayer & Patriotism Program will return to Looney\u2019s on June 28, 2026 \u2014 traditionally held on the Sunday evening before Independence Day. The free event will begin at 7 p.m. inside the Dual Destiny Theater and will conclude with a fireworks display.<\/span><\/p>\n Restoration efforts are currently underway across the Looney\u2019s site, including upgrades to the amphitheater, concession area, ticket center and the former Sister Sara\u2019s Restaurant. The buildings had remained vacant for more than two decades before being purchased by the Winston County Arts Council in October 2022 as part of a broader effort to promote tourism and the arts in Winston County.<\/span><\/p>\n The Lodge at Looney\u2019s is now available to rent for parties, family reunions, meetings and other private gatherings.<\/span><\/p>\n
