The event starts at 8 a.m. and includes storytelling, laughs and conversation about what it means to \u201ckeep it aloha\u201d in Hawai\u2019i today. Details.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n

New Island music. <\/strong>\u201cAmerican Idol\u201d winner Iam Tongi<\/u><\/a>; \u2018ukulele virtuoso and N\u0101 <\/em>H\u014dk\u016b Hanohano Award winner Jake Shimabukuro<\/u><\/a>; and the up-and coming reggae music sensation Kanaka Fyah have picked the same day to release new music. Tongi launches the single, \u201cEyes for You,\u201d while Shimabukuro has a new album \u201cCalm Seas.\u201d Kanaka Fyah<\/u><\/a> is releasing a new single as well, \u201cMorning Sun.\u201d Details.<\/u><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Go to the theater. <\/strong>M\u0101noa Valley Theatre, Diamond Head Theatre and Kumu Kahua Theatre have shows on stage this week. Diamond Head Theatre launched the musical \u201cThe Last Five Years,\u201d with a score by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown<\/span>, this month. M\u0101noa Valley Theatre opened \u201cDial M for Murder,\u201d a \u201cmurder mystery whodunit thriller,\u201d<\/u><\/a> according to\u00a0Dwight Martin<\/u><\/span><\/a>, who plays the chief inspector in the show. Both productions run through Sunday, Feb. 8. Kumu Kahua Theatre has \u201cTwo Nails, One Love,\u201d written by\u00a0<\/strong>Lee A Tonouchi and based on the novel by Alden M Hayashi, on stage through Friday, Feb. 6.
