Papa Roach<\/a> have released the new song \u201cWake Up Calling,\u201d the third in a series of singles from the nu-metal icons.<\/p>\n The song showcases the vulnerable and melodic side of the band, with Jacoby Shaddix mostly singing in a plaintive croon. The song\u2019s bridge does get a bit heavy and takes a pop-punk turn, but you won\u2019t find much nu-metal or rap rock here, as the Roach embrace a softer sound with religious undertones.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Wake Up Calling\u2019 is a song about standing on the edge of disaster \u2014 being pulled back from the brink, and ultimately choosing love over self-destruction,\u201d Shaddix said (via Blabbermouth<\/a>). \u201cIt\u2019s one of the most raw, emotional songs we\u2019ve written.\u201d<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n The Colin Brittain-produced track follows the band\u2019s 2025 one-off singles \u201cEven If It Kills Me\u201d and \u201cBraindead.\u201d Although an official announcement has yet to be made, it appears Papa Roach are prepping to drop the follow-up to their most recent full-length album, 2022\u2019s Ego Trip<\/em>.<\/p>\n Watch the lyric video for \u201cWake Up Calling\u201d below.<\/p>\n
