With \u201cSchool Spirits\u201d returning for a new season on Wednesday, viewers are ready to dissect every storyline of the supernatural teen drama. <\/p>\n
Before Season 3 airs, the cast of the beloved Paramount+ series looked back at some of the wildest theories they\u2019ve heard from the fandom.<\/p>\nPeyton List as Maddie Nears, Rainbow Wedell as Claire Zomer and Kiara Pichardo as Nicole Herrera in \u201cSchool Spirits.\u201d Ed Araquel\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nNick Pugliese as Charley in the teen supernatural drama. Ed Araquel\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cThere are some fans that they actually get what\u2019s going to happen before we know it, word for word,\u201d Kiara Pichardo, who plays Nicole, told The Post. \u201cThere is not many but there is always a few.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/aside>\n\u201cSchool Spirits\u201d follows Maddie (Peyton List) \u201ca teen girl stuck in the afterlife investigating her own mysterious disappearance; she goes on a crime-solving journey as she adjusts to school in the afterlife, but the closer she gets to the truth, the more secrets and lies she discovers,\u201d per the synopsis. <\/p>\n
Along the way, Maddie encounters other spirits in the afterlife at Split River High, including Wally (Milo Manheim), Rhonda (Sarah Yarkin), Janet (Jess Gabor), Charley (Nick Pugliese,) Quinn (Cihang Ma), Yuri (Miles Elliot) and Mr. Martin (Josh Zuckerman).<\/p>\nThe Post\u2019s Alexandra Bellusci chats with Cihang Ma and Miles Elliot. Also in the mix are Maddie\u2019s mom Sandra, portrayed by Maria Dizzia and high school teacher Mr. Anderson played by Patrick Gilmore. <\/p>\n
\u201cI had read about Simon getting stuck in the spirit world. Someone had mentioned that,\u201d Pichardo added. \u201cThere was nothing that was leading to that. So the fact that they knew it before it came out, I thought that was pretty crazy.\u201d <\/p>\nNY Post reporter Alexandra Bellusci sits down with Spencer MacPherson, Rainbow Wedell and Kiara Pichardo to dish on Season 3 of \u201cSchool Spirits.\u201d The celebrity.land<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nPatrick Gilmore as Mr. Anderson in \u201cSchool Spirits.\u201d Katie Yu\/Paramount+.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nWhile MacPherson, 28, recalled: \u201cI remember when, in season two, when Anderson\u2019s body is taken over, there were some interesting theories as to who was possessed. And it made me rewatch the after episode and be like, \u2018Oh, I could see that, I could see that!’\u201d<\/p>\n
For Elliot, the actor confessed he\u2019s snuck onto a reddit page or two in order to gauge the audiences\u2019 reactions.<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember I used to look at it right when season two was coming out, and then I was like, I have to get off this,\u201d Elliot told The Post. \u201cSo I haven\u2019t looked at it in maybe like two years, but I\u2019ve said this before but season two, I remember when Yuri were it was getting introduced and throughout season two when it was coming out, everyone was convinced that he was a villain and was some like Big Bad, who had all the secrets and was going to destroy Charley and the world.\u201d<\/p>\nKiara Pichardo as Nicole Herrera, Erika Swayze as Livia, Peyton List as Maddie Nears, Spencer Macpherson as Xavier Baxter, and Rainbow Wedell as Claire Zomer. Ed Araquel\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nHe stated about his character, who was introduced as another student trapped in the afterlife at Split River High in season 2: \u201cI thought that was so funny. Because I guess, you know, he is very quiet, so maybe he does read like that. So that was a pretty, pretty wild one that he\u2019s some big, bad villain!\u201d <\/p>\n
Ma felt the same way when Quinn stepped on the scene last season as one of the band kids from the early 2000s, who was killed when the bus crashed on a competition day.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the one that stuck out to me, maybe because I\u2019m playing Quinn and therefore I care about it, was there were some people saying, \u2018Oh, there\u2019s just something off about Quinn. Quinn definitely did it. There\u2019s just something weird about it!\u201d <\/p>\nSarah Yarkin as Rhonda. Ed Araquel\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nAnd the fandom theories date all the way back to the show\u2019s inception.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust looking at season one, when they mentioned Janet in the first \u2013 what was it the first two episodes? No one noticed. Then at the end we find out who Janet actually is,\u201d Pichardo detailed. \u201cBut you gotta look at everything. Everything means something and <\/em>I love looking at the fan theories, and sometimes they get it correct.\u201d<\/p>\nMeanwhile, Season 3 will see a new face haunt the halls of Split River \u2014 but as a very much alive and terrifying school principle.<\/p>\n
Jennifer Tilly joined the cast as Dr. Deborah Hunter-Price and quickly felt right at home on the paranormal set. <\/p>\nJennifer Tilly as Dr. Deborah Hunter-Price. Ed Araquel\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cShe was so lovely. So funny, on and off screen,\u201d Ma gushed. \u201cJust like a really awesome person. And I would show up on days when she worked, when I didn\u2019t work, just didn\u2019t see her work and that was really worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was so professional and she was also so enthusiastic,\u201d Elliot recounted. \u201cI remember one of the first days I was on set with her, with everyone, we all took a photo together. She was like, \u2018Let\u2019s take a photo.\u2019 So she was so excited to be there. And I think everyone was so excited to have her. So it just was so fun and a really cool treat this season.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s phenomenal,\u201d Wedell, 24, expressed. \u201cEverything she does, I just watch in awe. She is incredible with all of her line deliveries, as well. Just listening to her, she really uses her voice well to portray this moody, scary side of her.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe also will just toss in like ad-libs,\u201d MacPherson chimed in. \u201cIt\u2019s really, really cool because it keeps you on your toes. You have to be ready to spar because she\u2019ll just randomly throw in the funniest thing you\u2019ve ever heard.\u201d<\/p>\nThe Post\u2019s Alexandra Bellusci with Jennifer Tilly and Josh Zuckerman.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nLooking back at his time on set with Tilly, 67, Zuckerman, 40, said: \u201cJennifer\u2019s character brings such a like a delicious antagonistic force to it. Jennifer\u2019s character brings an incredible dynamic so it\u2019s really fun to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for what made Tilly say yes in the first place, the queen of horror told The Post: \u201cI love the show.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe writing is fantastic,\u201d the \u201cRHOBH\u201d star gushed. \u201cAll the actors are amazing. And I was just very pleased to be a part of this cult show, especially coming off of \u2018Chucky.\u2019 My \u2018Chucky\u2019 fans were very disappointed because there was no more \u2018Chucky\u2019 for a while. And they were all huge fans of \u2018School Spirits.’\u201d <\/p>\nRainbow Wedell as Claire Zomer and Kiara Pichardo as Nicole Herrera in \u201cSchool Spirits\u201d Season 3. Ed Araquel\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nTilly starred in \u201cThe Bride of Chucky,\u201d (1998), \u201cSeed of Chucky\u201d in 2004, \u201cCurse of Chucky\u201d (2013), \u201cCult of Chucky\u201d in 2017 and then the series \u201cChucky\u201d from 2021 to 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt like I brought that whole fan base over to me, like, \u2018Come with me, I\u2019m going to be on another super cool show.\u2019 But I love the character of Dr. Hunter-Price. I like that she\u2019s slightly evil or more than slightly evil, and every week I was so excited to get the script to see what was going to happen to her,\u201d she said. \u2018It\u2019s fun to play this kind of characters. She\u2019s greedy and narcissistic and she\u2019s a bad mother. And then horrific things happen further along in the season, which I think are very satisfying.\u201d<\/p>\nPeyton List as Maddie. Ed Araquel\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nGiving the audience one teeny, tiny, tease, Tilly added: \u201cThere is a thing that happens to her which is so balls to the wall. I couldn\u2019t even believe that I got to play this particular scenario out. So it\u2019s just really fun to play this character as she is towards the end of the season.\u201d <\/p>\n
