Bruce Springsteen<\/a> has taken down ICE on his new protest song, \u2018Streets of Minneapolis\u2019.<\/p>\n

Springsteen has dedicated the new song, which he only wrote on January 24th, in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were both killed by ICE officials in Minneapolis this month.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Springsteen said of his political anthem, \u201cI wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018The Boss\u2019 continued, \u201cIt\u2019s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free, Bruce Springsteen.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the track, Springsteen viscerally takes down the Donald Trump administration<\/a> and sings, \u201cA city aflame fought fire and ice, \u2018Neath an occupier\u2019s boots, King Trump\u2019s private army from the DHS, Guns belted to their coats, Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law, Or so their story goes\u201d.<\/p>\n

He also honours the two tragic deaths caused by ICE in Minneapolis. Springsteen sings, \u201cThere were bloody footprints, Where mercy should have stood, And two dead left to die on snow-filled streets, Alex Pretti and Renee Good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Springsteen decries ICE as \u201cfederal thugs\u201d on \u2018Streets of Minneapolis\u2019 while ridiculing their claim that the acts were \u201cself-defence\u201d. Additionally, Springsteen pointed the finger at US Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller and United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, accusing them of fabricating \u201cdirty lies\u201d.<\/p>\n

Later in the song, Springsteen says of ICE: \u201cNow they say they\u2019re here to uphold the law, But they trample on our rights, If your skin is black or brown my friend, You can be questioned or deported on sight.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new song also features a chant of \u201cICE out\u201d, as well as a promise to the people of Minneapolis, \u201cWe\u2019ll remember the names of those who died, On the streets of Minneapolis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, before he wrote \u2018Streets of Minneapolis\u2019, Springsteen delivered a passionate speech decrying ICE\u2019s conduct in the state. <\/p>\n

During an appearance in New Jersey,<\/a> he told the crowd, \u201cIf you believe you don\u2019t deserve to be murdered for exercising your American right to protest, send a message to this president as the mayor of that city has said, ICE should get the fuck out of Minneapolis.\u201d<\/p>\n
