The wait for Noah Kahan<\/a>\u2018s new album is nearly over.<\/p>\n Two months after telling fans at a benefit concert in Boston<\/a>, \u201cMy album is officially done<\/a>,\u201d the New England native has released a name and release date for his new project. <\/p>\n \u201cFrom a long silence forms a divide, a great expanse demanding attention,\u201d Kahan wrote on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cI stare across it. I see old friends, my father, my mother, my siblings, my younger self, the great state of Vermont.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to scream these feelings, to gesticulate wildly at the figures on the other side, but my voice has grown hoarse and muted after years of climbing a ladder towards the wild, spiraling dreams that have materialized in front of me,\u201d the singer-songwriter continued. \u201cInstead, I wrote them down next to a piano in Nashville, next to a pond in Guilford, Vermont, in a legendary studio in upstate New York, on a farm with a firetower in Only, Tennessee.\u201d<\/p>\n Kahan\u2019s fourth studio album, \u201cThe Great Divide,\u201d will arrive April 24, he said. The album\u2019s first single<\/a>, the title track, will come out Friday. <\/p>\n \u201cThe songs are the words I would say if I could,\u201d Kahan shared in the social media post. \u201cThey are the fears I dance with in the moments before I drift off to sleep. The music here is my best attempt to delve deeper into the people, places, and feelings that have made me who I am. I am grateful for all of it, for all of you, for listening to them, if you choose to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n The two-time Grammy-nominated artist has been teasing this project for some time, including via a secret TikTok account with the username \u201cthelastofthebugs<\/a>.\u201d Though he treated fans to a live album<\/a> from his two<\/a> sold-out Fenway Park shows<\/a> in 2024<\/a>, Kahan last released a studio album in 2022 with \u201cStick Season<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n At the concert in support of The Busyhead Project and the Red Sox Foundation\u00a0in November, Kahan performed three unreleased songs from the new project, including \u201cDeny, Deny, Deny.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt f****** sucked to make, but I\u2019ve never been more proud of the music that\u2019s going to be out for you guys,\u201d Kahan told the audience then. \u201cI know it\u2019s been awhile, I\u2019m sorry.
