The forthcoming project \u201cexplores the stories and moments that have shaped him over the last four years: family, friendships, nature, and celebrates the work of finding his way back to himself\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It follows <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/tom-misch-on-taking-a-step-back-from-music-the-intensity-of-it-all-caught-up-with-me-and-came-at-a-cost-to-my-mental-health-3924844\">the artist\u2019s \u201cstep back\u201d from music, which he recently opened up about on social media<\/a>, and him reassing his relationship with music.<\/p>\n<p>Misch created the material for the LP during his time spent between London, Cornwall, Portugal and Nashville. For \u2018Full Circle\u2019, he decided to step away from a production-led creative process, in favour of a more classic songwriting approach.<\/p>\n<p>The artist used piano and guitar on the album, and expanded his sound with a full band in the studio. He committed to recording live takes, while minimising comping for a raw and spontaneous feel.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tom Misch - Sisters With Me (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M3XsIcAVa9o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Misch worked closely with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/matt-maltese\">Matt Maltese<\/a>, who co-wrote numerous songs on \u2018Full Circle\u2019.\u00a0Ian Fitchuk developed much of the material in Nashville, with Adam Jaffrey serving as a key collaborator during the record\u2019s earliest stages.<\/p>\n<p>He used a vintage U47 microphone throughout, and set out with a vision to achieve specific sounds inspired by the warmth and clarity of \u201970s hi-fi records. Misch has cited the likes of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/fleetwood-mac\">Fleetwood Mac<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/joni-mitchell\">Joni Mitchell<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/neil-young\">Neil Young<\/a> and John Martyn as influences.<\/p>\n<p>The first preview of \u2018Full Circle\u2019 comes in the form of \u2018Sisters With Me\u2019, which emerged during a time when Misch was living with his sisters in their family home for the first time as adults.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t my intention to write anything like that but it was probably a bit of subconscious creativity with everything that was going on,\u201d he explained of the single.<br \/><em><br \/><\/em>The song is accompanied by a nostalgic official music video, filmed in the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. However, he told fans that he had still been \u201ctinkering away\u201d with new material \u201cbehind closed doors\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote that \u201ctaking some time away\u201d had \u201cdefinitely been needed and very formative\u201d for him, in \u201cexploring who I am outside of this project and trying all sorts of new things\u201d.
