Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a> have releases a series of new singles over the past few years, including the songs \u201cNothin\u2019\u201d and \u201cAtlas\u201d<\/a> last month. However, all of the recent tracks originated during the Chinese Democracy<\/em> era.<\/p>\n As revealed by Slash<\/a> in a new interview, the barrel has been scraped dry and the next GN\u2019R album will feature all new material. Until then, fans can look forward to a compilation including all of the aforementioned singles.<\/p>\n Get Guns N’ Roses Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n When asked about the group\u2019s strategy of releasing new music, Slash told Sylvia Alvarado of KOMP 92.3<\/a> (as transcribed by Blabbermouth<\/a>): \u201cI think in this instance it\u2019s what we\u2019re doing, because we only re-recorded those songs \u2014 like a couple of songs here, a couple of songs there.\u201d<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cThese were the last two that are left to do, and we actually did them not even back to back. \u2018Nothin\u201d was one, and \u2018Atlas\u2019 was at a different time, but they hadn\u2019t been released yet. So, we\u2019re releasing \u2019em now. And then there\u2019s really no more of that sort of old rehash stuff to release. But I think what we\u2019re gonna do, we\u2019re gonna take all those songs and put them on something and release that as a package. And then the next record that we\u2019re gonna do is gonna be all new original stuff, and that\u2019ll be an actual album.\u201d<\/p>\n Slash intimated that the modern digital landscape of streaming \u2014 and the way listeners consume music \u2014 has steered the band\u2019s singles-only approach as of late, though he doubled-down on his own personal desire to record a proper album.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a really weird time for especially rock \u2018n\u2019 roll and how it works in this industry and how it works for fans,\u201d he said. \u201cI think most diehard rock \u2018n\u2019 roll fans would like to get an album and they love vinyl, but they would want a package of songs. But some of the younger kids who are sort of raised in this new fancy kind of digital era that we\u2019re in don\u2019t know about albums, really, being released as a whole. So it\u2019s a strange time. It\u2019s harder to navigate.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cBut to me, it\u2019s a no-brainer. Make a record. You can do all the digital stuff in any configuration you want. But make sure that there\u2019s an album. Yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n Elsewhere, Slash detailed a bit about the recording process for the post-Chinese Democracy<\/em> singles, with the band handpicking songs from Axl Rose\u2019s archive and re-recording over the original stems.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, we took a bunch of material that Axl had, and we all sat down and listened to it,\u201d Slash revealed. \u201cAnd so we sort of picked out all the different songs that we wanted to do and what Axl wanted to do. And we just sort of took all the guitars and the bass off and redid it. And it was fun.\u201d<\/p>\n No timeline was given for the singles comp or the prospective new album, but work on the latter will likely have to wait until GN\u2019R wrap up their 2026 world tour<\/a>, including a run of North American dates<\/a> this summer.
