No movie at Sundance was more fun to make than \u201cGail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass.\u201d At least that\u2019s the impression left by director David Wain and his cast, who couldn\u2019t stop making each other laugh during their visit to the IndieWire Studio<\/a>, presented by Dropbox.<\/p>\n Wain was joined by stars Ken Marino (who co-wrote the film), Zoey Deutch, John Slattery, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Ben Wang to reminisce about making their unapologetically silly comedy<\/a>.<\/p>\n More from IndieWire<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cKen Marino over there and I, we came up with the idea,\u201d Wain said. \u201cAnd the first thought we had was \u2018What if we did a movie about Gail Daughtry? And what if she had a celebrity sex pass?\u201d<\/p>\n The film sees Deutch play a naive bride-to-be from Kansas who travels to Los Angeles in pursuit of hooking up with Joh Hamm after her fiancee uses his \u201ccelebrity sex pass\u201d to sleep with a famous crush of his own. She ends up taking a \u201cWizard of Oz\u201d-esque journey with a crew of misfit friends who all have their own motives to meet the \u201cMad Men\u201d star.<\/p>\n \u201cI would describe it as \u2018Mr. Toad\u2019s Wild Ride,’\u201d Slattery, who plays himself, said of the film. \u201cThere\u2019s no Mr. Toad, but it is a wild ride.\u201d<\/p>\n The chemistry between the cast was apparent, with Deutch saying that \u201cOne thing I learned while making this movie is that John Slattery is actually the funniest person I\u2019ve met in my life.\u201d The conversation soon turned to funny stories from the set, with Wang recalling a video he took of Deutch and Slattery practicing a particularly graphic stunt.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of my favorite things I have on my phone is a candid of Zoey kicking John in the crotch over and over because he was testing his little crotch protecting device,\u201d Wang said with a laugh.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd if you want to see why her character kicks his character in the balls, you\u2019re gonna have to see the movie!\u201d Wain\u00a0added.<\/p>\n Watch the complete conversation with the \u201cGail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass\u201d team above.<\/p>\n Dropbox is proud to partner with IndieWire and the\u00a0Sundance<\/a>\u00a0Film Festival.
