\n\u201cYou almost just flung off the chair,\u201d Cooper pointed out.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause I just feel like, if I\u2019m like, \u2018No,\u2019 I\u2019m like, oh, it\u2019s such a lie; you can tell. I am looking for love.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOkay, so maybe you\u2019re talking to someone,\u201d Cooper said.<\/p>\n
Ros\u00e9 didn\u2019t confirm; instead, she explained why she feels uncomfortable talking about dating, reflecting on how \u201csad\u201d that is.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe first thing when you ask something like that, it\u2019s like all the articles, all the comments\u2014I just see it, like, rolled down,\u201d Ros\u00e9 said. \u201cAnd who has been plotting my downfall, being like, \u2018This is the comment we take to\u2014so if anything happens, this is the interview. We go back to tie this crazy story about how addicted to men [she is],\u2019 for example. That\u2019s all I think about. So I would love to just be like, yes or no. But being like, \u2018Is this going to define who I am?\u2019 How sad. How sad of a reality is that?\u201d<\/p>\n
She started to get emotional: \u201cThat makes me sad. It makes me sad for a lot of the industry and how\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n
She tried to compose herself, later adding, \u201cI feel like it\u2019s just, like, a normal thing [to be asked]. Just because I was from a K-pop group doesn\u2019t mean I am a different type of human being. I think we\u2019re all born with legs and arms and, you know, everyone\u2019s human.\u201d<\/p>\n
But because she is famous, topics like dating require her to think about \u201chow will people try to use my comments to create something. And it\u2019s not like I\u2019m saying the craziest thing right now. Am I saying like I killed someone? No.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m just asking if you\u2019re seeing someone, not even if you have a boyfriend,\u201d Cooper agreed.<\/p>\n\n\nRelated Story<\/span>Cooper also asked Ros\u00e9 why keeping her relationships private feels like the right approach for her right now.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think a lot of it has to do to protect the person that I love,\u201d Ros\u00e9 said. \u201cI\u2019ve noticed that it hurts more if any of my friends are attacked. Or the closer the person is, if they\u2019re ever attacked, it really, really is hurtful.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd also, I am okay because I am in the public eye and it\u2019s my job, and it comes with the territories, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Okay, whatever.\u2019 But, you know, I think it\u2019s a bit unfair.\u201d<\/p>\n
She cited the current reality with fans and the media, saying that someday, if she could \u201cmaybe really fully trust the media to protect me and be there for me, then I might feel comfortable [sharing]. But for now, I don\u2019t know if I\u2019ve felt completely safe. I\u2019m sure a lot of other people understand what that feels like and experience that.\u201d<\/p>\n
She has dated, though. With one past boyfriend, she recalled wearing disguises to visit him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was so paranoid. I\u2019m like, \u2018I can never be seen ever,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cI ordered online from, it\u2019s basically like Amazon but in Korea. I got a wig. I got a black curly wig, like a short one. And then I ordered like, I studied how like older people, like elderly women would dress on the street. I\u2019d be like, \u2018Okay, they wear that kind of a skirt and those shoes and that kind of a bag.\u2019 And I would like study it, and I would order it. And I dressed up.\u201d<\/p>\n
That lasted for at least six months, with Ros\u00e9 ultimately breaking up with that partner. For the next one she dated, she didn\u2019t wear that disguise anymore.<\/p>\n\n\nRelated Story<\/span>She also told Cooper that she would prefer to date someone in the industry because her life\u2014and adolescence as a K-pop trainee\u2014is so different.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone just usually goes to school, goes to college, and whatnot, has like somewhat of a similar experience growing up,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She admitted she felt \u201cinexperienced\u201d and \u201clike such an alien,\u201d around them, adding, \u201cThey would talk about like all these things. And I\u2019d be like, I don\u2019t know how to relate to it. All I know is, you know, what I\u2019ve done [my work training and with Blackpink].\u201d<\/p>\n
