The \u201cWhite Lotus<\/a>\u201d and \u201cThe Housemaid<\/a>\u201d actress told Cosmopolitan<\/a> in a recent cover story that she has no plans to become a voice on political issues, despite public pressure to do so.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in the arts. I\u2019m not here to speak on politics,\u201d Sweeney<\/a> said. \u201cThat\u2019s not an area I\u2019ve ever even imagined getting into. It\u2019s not why I became who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old star explained that her passion lies solely in her craft. \u201cI became an actor because I like to tell stories,\u201d she told the magazine, while emphasizing her core values: \u201cI don\u2019t believe in hate in any form.
