Built upon a driving rock riff (that peaks with a sonic burst near the five-minute mark) the single embraces Kahan\u2019s alternative-folk tendencies that pair perfectly with his narrative-driven songwriting. \u201cI hope you settle down, I hope you marry rich\/ I hope you\u2019re scared of all the ordinary shit,\u201d he sings \u2014 and while it\u2019s unclear who his hopes are intended for, by the song\u2019s end he offers some clarity. \u201cI hope that you\u2019re not losing sleep about what\u2019s next,\u201d he sings, perhaps sharing the one hope he\u2019s holding onto most for himself.<\/p>\n \n\tLabrinth, \u201cDebris\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n \n\tBritish artist Labrinth<\/a> is known for pushing boundaries when it comes to how his music can sound \u2014 often resulting in experimental production that defies genre. With his latest album, Cosmic Opera ACT I, <\/em>he fuses orchestral elements with his more expected futuristic production, resulting in what has been coined as a \u201cmodern opera,\u201d according to a release. \u201cExpansive in sound and intimate in spirit,\u201d illustrated by the haunting and swelling single \u201cDebris.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tCannons, \u201cStarlight\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\tEarlier this week, Los Angeles pop band Cannons<\/a> announced its upcoming fifth album, Everything Glows<\/em>, out March 27 on Columbia.\u00a0Single \u201cStarlight\u201d sounds much like its title implies: airy, cosmic and equal parts intimate and expansive.
