Apple TV\u2019s neo-noir thriller with a sci-fi twist not revealed until the sixth episode of the first season will be back for more \u2014 and we finally<\/em> know when.<\/p>\n

The streaming service announced the Sugar<\/em><\/a> Season 2 premiere date on January 30. It will return on June 19. Also released is the rollout schedule as well as Season 2 plot details and the confirmed cast. Plus, Apple TV released new photos, which you can see above and below, of Farrell and new cast members.<\/p>\n

Sugar<\/em>, starring and executive produced by Colin Farrell<\/a>, released its first season in April and May 2024. Farrell\u2019s John Sugar is more than just a private investigator: He\u2019s also an alien<\/a>! That not only opened the show up and offered an explanation for some things seen in the episodes prior to the reveal, but it also led to an opening credits change<\/a>; starting with Episode 7, they ended with Sugar\u2019s eyes glowing.<\/p>\n

When will Sugar<\/em> Season 2 premiere?<\/h2>\n

Sugar<\/em> Season 2 will premiere on Friday, June 19, with one episode. Episodes will then be released weekly on Fridays, until the Season 2 finale on August 7. Season 2 consists of eight episodes.<\/p>\n

The premiere will come just over two years after the Season 1 finale began streaming, on May 27, 2024.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s in the Sugar<\/em> Season 2 cast?<\/h2>\n

Sugar<\/em> Season 1, in addition to Colin Farrell as John Sugar, also starred Kirby as Ruby, Amy Ryan<\/a> as Melanie Matthews, James Cromwell<\/a> as Jonathan Siegel, Anna Gunn<\/a> as Margit, Dennis Boutsikaris<\/a> as Bernie Siegel, Nate Corddry<\/a> as David Siegel, Sydney Chandler<\/a> as Olivia Siegel, and Alex Hernandez as Kenny.<\/p>\n

Season 2 is set to introduce a new cast alongside Farrell. Joining the show are Jin Ha<\/a>, Raymond Lee<\/a>, Tony Dalton<\/a>, Laura Donnelly<\/a>, Sasha Calle<\/a>, and special guest star Shea Whigham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ha\u2019s character is \u201ca boxer who frequently gets caught up with the wrong crowds,\u201d Donnelly\u2019s is \u201ca woman who is immune to Sugar\u2019s charms,\u201d and Dalton\u2019s is a lieutenant in the LA County Sheriff\u2019s Department, Deadline<\/a> reported on March 7, 2025. Whigham\u2019s character is \u201ca government agency employee helping Sugar in his investigations,\u201d while Calle\u2019s is \u201ca hustler working for Sugar,\u201d Deadline<\/a> reported on April 8.\u00a0There are no character details for Lee.<\/p>\n

How did\u00a0Sugar<\/em> Season 1 end?<\/h2>\n

In the finale, Sugar did solve his Season 1 case and brought Olivia Siegel home. He also chose to stay on Earth while the rest of the aliens, including Ruby, returned home. That was because he believed his sister, who was missing, might be on Earth, after learning his friend, Henry (Jason Butler Harner<\/a>), was the Big Bad, connected to her and Olivia\u2019s kidnapping. Sugar also showed part of himself to Melanie when he was planning to leave Earth behind.<\/p>\n

What will\u00a0Sugar<\/em> Season 2 be about?<\/h2>\n

Sugar<\/em> is described as \u201ca contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture and television history: the private detective story.\u201d In Season 2, Sugar is back in Los Angeles, taking on another missing persons case as he continues to look for answers surrounding his missing sister. Sugar will be\u00a0tracking the troubled older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer,\u201d Apple TV teases. \u201cAs the investigation expands into a city-wide conspiracy with sinister intentions, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question \u2014 how far will he go to do what\u2019s right?\u201d<\/p>\n
