Brett Ratner,<\/a> the director of a new documentary about Melania Trump<\/a>, said Thursday he understood why crew members reportedly asked that their names not be on the film.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After Rolling Stone reported<\/a> that the majority of the \u201cMelania\u201d New York crew requested that they not be formally credited, Ratner was asked about it at the Kennedy Center premiere.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI understand if a liberal is working on the movie and they don\u2019t want to be credited, but they want to feed their family. I don\u2019t blame anybody for that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Ratner hinted that at least some of the reluctant workers were \u201cday players\u201d on his filming locations in New York, D.C. and Florida.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

One production person who does have their name on the project told the outlet they regretted doing so because of Trump\u2019s second term. \u201cI\u2019m much more alarmed now than I was a year ago,\u201d the person said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI feel a little bit uncomfortable with the propaganda element of this,\u201d another said in Rolling Stone. \u201cBut Brett Ratner was the worst part of working on this project.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In fact, Rolling Stone wrote, several complained about Ratner while praising Melania Trump as \u201cfriendly and very engaged.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
