Macaulay Culkin<\/strong><\/a> is saying goodbye to one of the most important women in his life.<\/p>\n

On January 30, fans of Home Alone<\/em><\/a> were devastated to learn about the death of legendary actress Catherine O\u2019Hara<\/strong><\/a>. Famous for portraying Macaulay\u2019s character Kevin McAllister\u2019s mom, Kate, and for roles in Schitt\u2019s Creek <\/em>and Beetlejuice<\/em>, the actress died at age 71 after battling \u201ca brief illness,\u201d according to a report from Us Weekly<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Macaulay paid tribute to the late star on Instagram<\/a>, voicing just how special their bond was more than three decades after filming Home Alone<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMama. I thought we had time,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you. But I had so much more to say. I love you. I\u2019ll see you later.\u201d<\/p>\n

As soon as fans saw Macaulay\u2019s comment about Catherine\u2019s death, they rallied around him and sent their condolences.<\/p>\n

Fans know Macaulay and Catherine\u2019s friendship was something both stars cherished over the years. When Macaulay received a star<\/a> on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December 2023, Catherine gave a speech<\/a> that said a great deal about how much the two adored one another.<\/p>\n

\u201cHome Alone<\/em> was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation,\u201d she stated at the time. \u201cThe reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone<\/em> together is because of Macaulay Culkin.\u201d<\/p>\n
