We at Dread<\/a> are devastated to learn today that Catherine O\u2019Hara<\/a>, a two-time Emmy winner and star of such films as Beetlejuice<\/a>, has passed away at the age of 71.<\/p>\n

THR reports that O\u2019Hara died at her home in Los Angeles after a brief illness, confirmed by her reps at CAA<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Horror fans may best know O\u2019Hara from her iconic role as Delia<\/a> in both Beetlejuice<\/a> and the sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice<\/a>, but she was an incredibly talented actress with a long list of credits to her name. General audiences are more than familiar with her thanks to her role as Kevin\u2019s mom in Home Alone<\/a>. She also had roles in Frankenweenie<\/a>, Best in Show<\/a> and The Nightmare Before Christmas<\/a>, to name a few.<\/p>\n
