Publicly humiliated, stripped of his titles and evicted from his home, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor might have wondered whether things could possibly get any worse<\/a>. Well, they just have.\u00a0The emails and photos released as part of the latest batch of Epstein files<\/a> paint another seedy picture of a man seduced by the money and lifestyle of a convicted paedophile.<\/p>\n

You have to ask whether any brain cells whirred into life when the then Prince invited Epstein, newly freed from prison, to dinner at Buckingham Palace. What on earth was he thinking?\u00a0 Did no red warning lights flash when Epstein offered \u201cthe Duke\u201d a beautiful 26-year-old Russian girl as a \u201cdinner\u201d date? Surely the thought must have occurred to him that this could, at the very least, present a security risk?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And why would he, if it really was him, allow himself to be pictured on all fours touching a young woman lying motionless beneath him on the floor?<\/p>\n

The Palace\u2019s fears that the Epstein scandal<\/a> was not yet over have been proved accurate. The King is vindicated in his brutal decision to remove every title and honour from his brother and banish him from Windsor. The latest emails have provided further evidence that Andrew \u2014 and his ex wife, Sarah \u2014 openly lied about ending their friendship with Epstein after his conviction. To the contrary, it seems that neither of them could keep away from the man \u2014 or his money.<\/p>\n

Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing. If that really is the case then he has to answer why he has refused to cooperate with the US authorities investigating Epstein\u2019s web of abuse. We now have details of the formal request put to him six years ago\u2014 and yet this man who protested in his Newsnight interview that he suffered from \u201ca tendency to be too honourable\u201d still refuses to do the honourable thing.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to imagine how Andrew Mountbatten Windsor could sink any lower in the public\u2019s esteem. But his capacity to surprise and shock us all seems to know no bounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
