That being said, all good things must eventually come to an end, and while Thompson doesn\u2019t know when that will be, he already knows that it\u2019s going to be extremely painful.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">While speaking with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/kenan-thompson-says-he-does-think-about-final-day-on-saturday-night-live-exclusive-11889599\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:People;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><u>People<\/u><\/a> about his new children\u2019s book <em>Unfunny Bunny<\/em> (which he was recently filmed <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/television\/see-kenan-thompson-crash-snl-standby-line-people-froze-their-tushes-off\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:giving away to fans on the SNL standby line;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><u>giving away to fans on the <\/u><u><em>SNL<\/em><\/u><u> standby line<\/u><\/a>), the comedian was asked if he has given thought to what the day will look like when he is ready to walk away from the show that has made him a household name, and he didn\u2019t play aloof when discussing the subject. He knows that it\u2019s going to get emotional, and it\u2019s not even going to be about whatever ends up being his final sketch. Said Thompson,<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"mb-4 border-l-2 pl-5 italic text-tertiary\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">I definitely do. It&#8217;s, it\u2019s gonna suck. There&#8217;s just so many layers to it. It&#8217;s not just the on-screen that you see in that one, you know, camera shot. It&#8217;s so many people behind the scenes and years and years and years with each one of those people. So it&#8217;s gonna be a lot.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Thompson first joined the show as a featured player in 2003, and he has been a member of the repertory cast since 2005. In that time, there has been <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/articles\/amid-speculation-snl-cast-exits-192227839.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:substantial turnover and many comedians have come and gone;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\"><u>substantial turnover and many comedians have come and gone<\/u><\/a>, but I\u2019m certain there are plenty of people behind the scenes who have been working on <em>SNL<\/em> just as long as he has, and one can only imagine how hard it\u2019s going to be for him to say goodbye when the time comes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There were surely be a lot of hugs and tears on Kenan Thompson\u2019s final night\u2026 but he has an idea of how to perhaps circumvent all of the emotions: pull a classic French leave. He jokingly added in the interview,<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"mb-4 border-l-2 pl-5 italic text-tertiary\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">I might have to just rip the bandaid and run out the back door and not say nothing to nobody and just write letters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">For what it\u2019s worth, that wouldn\u2019t be the worst idea.
