Mind-body wellness received satiric play.<\/p>\n<p>Contrasted was the royal coolness of the lovely queen, who ruled with his majesty at the Olympians ball in the tented grounds of the New Orleans Country Club. She was Miss <strong>Ellen Margaret Daly<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Michael McNellis Daly<\/strong>, and a royal legacy in Olympians. Her mother, <strong>Suzie Dardis Daly<\/strong>, grandmother <strong>Anne Charbonnet Dardis,<\/strong> sisters <strong>Kaitlin Monica Daly and Shannon Rosemary Daly,<\/strong> and aunt <strong>Paulette Charbonnet Eastin<\/strong> have all worn the krewe\u2019s crown. Seated in the queen\u2019s box seats, along with <strong>Mmes. Theard Terrebonne, Donald Ellis, Brian Klebba<\/strong> and <strong>John Zvonek,<\/strong> those former monarchs applauded the family\u2019s latest one in her royal attire. Queen Ellen\u2019s regal ensemble included a gown designed by <strong>Perla Orihuela<\/strong> that was created with French lace over white silk satin and hand-beaded with more than 15,000 Swarovski crystals and pearls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"2\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>Admired and applauded, as well, was court maid Miss <strong>Piper Katherine Franks,<\/strong> a debutante of the season, and the daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Zeljko Stephen Franks II<\/strong>; and the princesses, Misses <strong>Rain Elizabeth Halpern, Natalie Florence Sharpe, Scarlett Odella Kiger, Kinsley Evelyn Kiger,<\/strong> and <strong>Mia Louise DeLouche.<\/strong> Masters Alexander <strong>Luis Gallois, Jax Patrick Wolfor<\/strong>d and <strong>William Prescott Worsley Jr.<\/strong> tended to their duties as pages.<\/p>\n<p>Serving on the Olympians 2026 Committee were co-general chairmen <strong>Douglas W. Tyler<\/strong> and <strong>Arthur S. Mann III;<\/strong> committee chairmen <strong>Alan G. Brackett, Ralph G. Breaux<\/strong>, and <strong>William S. Nalty<\/strong>; and Dr. <strong>Wesley W. Bryan,<\/strong> a vice chairman.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"3\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>Noted, and enjoying the music of the Jimmy Maxwell Orchestra, led by <strong>Robert Maxwell<\/strong>, were former queen Miss <strong>Brittany Watson<\/strong> and her mother, <strong>Mrs. J. Andrew Watson<\/strong>; Miss <strong>Audrey Mann<\/strong>, the 2025 monarch, and her mother, <strong>Mrs. Christopher Mann<\/strong>; and <strong>Mrs. G. Perry Eastman III,<\/strong> who reigned 50 years ago as Miss <strong>Ninette Marie Charbonnet.<\/strong> Seated nearby were <strong>Mmes. Douglas W. Tyler, Rene E. Dupaquier, Paul N. Kogos<\/strong> and <strong>Glenn K. Landrum Jr.<\/strong> They wore the krewe favor, which was designed by <strong>Missy Reynolds<\/strong> to further the theme. It depicted Cerberus, the three-headed dog who guards the gates of the Underworld, and aligned with the krewe\u2019s feature of an Olympian deity on the 2026 invitation. Hades, one of the original 12 deities, and the brother of Zeus, was \u201chonored.\u201d Persephone, whom he abducted, was his queen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"4\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>Queen Ellen and her court gleefully trekked to the country club\u2019s premises for the post-pageantry supper. A hearty breakfast awaited, as did the music of The Boogie Men. Reflecting on her reign, Ellen related that she was so honored to have \u201cthe opportunity to be part of the Olympians ball\u201d and all that it means to her family. She concluded with, \u201cI am beyond grateful.\u201d The final words came from her grandparents, Anne (former queen) and <strong>Jack Dardis.<\/strong> They were thrilled to be at the ball with Ellen, \u201cwho had a fantastic time,\u201d and whom they described as \u201ca lovely young lady, inside and out.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Sargent at Arms<\/h2>\n<p>Once again, the Royal Tent housed monarchs and their court, but prior to the annual Caliphs of Cairo masked ball, her majesty Miss <strong>Sloane Alexandra Paysse<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Ren\u00e9 Sylvain Paysse Jr.<\/strong>, greeted subjects in a courtyard. A beautiful one at that and part of The Terrell House on Magazine Street, where a pre-ball reception took place. \u201cI am so excited (about being queen) and have dreamed of this since I was a Caliphs princess,\u201d said the beaming monarch. Last year, Miss <strong>Katherine Olivia Lorusso<\/strong> held the organization\u2019s scepter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"5\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>Then it was on to the New Orleans Country Club for the bal masqu\u00e9, which highlighted Gaul and gall. Titled \u201cAn American in Paris, a King in Waiting, Meet Madame X.\u201d Our town\u2019s former Virginie Amelie Avegno, who married French banker Pierre Gautreau, was referenced as the subject in the controversial \u201cMadame X\u201d portrait of her by American painter John Singer Sargent. She posed provocatively in a black dress.<\/p>\n<p>In regal attire, her majesty Sloane was a vision of timeless elegance in a silver lam\u00e9 gown by Royal Design House. It was overlaid with hand-beaded and re-embroidered lace. In lovely white gowns were maids <strong>March\u00e9 Marie Beals, Alice Lane Read Calhoun, Hailey Reese Sisung<\/strong>, and <strong>Taylor Alexis Stokes.<\/strong> Completing the court were ladies-in-waiting <strong>Francois Lolol Beals, Colleen Patricia Collins, Erin Kathleen Collins, Olivia Andree Hainkel, Charlotte Clara Jenkins, Drew Diane Mills, Abigail Kathryn Munson, Maria Cristina Rioja, Chloe Elise Shannon<\/strong>, and <strong>Teresa Marie Vinas<\/strong>, along with princesses <strong>Phebe Weller Glass, Addison Leigh Guidry, Catherine Ann Soskin<\/strong>, and <strong>Aubrey Elizabeth Kramer<\/strong>. Masters <strong>Jax Patrick Wolford<\/strong> and <strong>Jack Thomas Akenson<\/strong> were pages. General chairman, Mr. <strong>Alan Guy Brackett<\/strong>, was assisted by Messrs. <strong>Ralph Gerard Breaux, William Sellers Nalty,<\/strong> and <strong>Joseph Michael Guillot<\/strong>; and Brig. Gen. <strong>John Bettes Dunlap III<\/strong> and Dr. <strong>Michael Philip Kiernan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"6\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>Further features of the Paris Salon of 1884-themed ball were the music making of the Jimmy Maxwell Orchestra with <strong>Robert Maxwell<\/strong> holding the baton, and the Adler\u2019s-designed krewe favor replicating one of Madame X\u2019s personal jewels, a crescent moon in matte gold studded with sparkling stones.<\/p>\n<p>Miss <strong>Lauren Lee Paysse<\/strong>, royal sister, was prominently seated as were <strong>Mmes. Paysse Jr., Allen Acomb Jr. and III, Jordan Berry, Louis Poch\u00e9, Gary McNamara, Patrick Duckworth, Cyril Lowe, Frank Lopez IV, Craig Ferguson, Patrick Maclean, James Lopez, William Benjamin, Ray Kenney, Wesley Bryan, Alan Brackett,<\/strong> and Ms. <strong>Astrid Mussiett.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Capping the evening was the Queen\u2019s Breakfast in the club house, where the monarchs\u2019 tables were embellished with shining silver runners, votives and floral arrangements \u2014 blue and white hydrangeas for the queen, and Carnival-colored ones for the king, who included Mardi Gras tambourines. Jubilation then reigned on the dance floor when the BRW band, formed in 1972, elicited lots of contemporary moves.
