John Lithgow<\/a> opened up about playing Dumbledore in the upcoming \u201cHarry Potter\u201d series when speaking at Rotterdam Film Festival, where \u201cJimpa<\/a>,\u201d his latest film, screened Sunday.<\/p>\n

Asked about J.K. Rowling<\/a> trans statements, he said: \u201cI take the subject extremely seriously. She has created this amazing canon for young people and it has jumped into the consciousness of the society. It\u2019s about good versus evil, kindness versus cruelty.
