Steven Spielberg just hit yet another major milestone. At the 2026 Grammy Awards<\/a>, the legendary filmmaker became an EGOT, winning his first Grammy for producing Music by John Williams<\/em>, which took home the trophy for Best Music Film. While qualifying for EGOT status requires just one win in each category, Spielberg has previously taken home a total of four Emmys (for The Pacific<\/em>, Band of Brothers<\/em>, Steven Spielberg Presents: A Pinky & The Brain Christmas<\/em>, and Steven Spielberg Presents Taken<\/em>), three Oscars (for Schindler\u2019s List and<\/em> Saving Private Ryan)<\/em>, and one Tony (for A Strange Loop). <\/em><\/p>\n “Thank you to all the Grammy voters, whose recognition of Music by John Williams<\/em> means the world to me and our Amblin team, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, and congratulations to our partners at Imagine and the Walt Disney Company,\u201d Spielberg wrote in a statement.<\/a> Though he did not attend the non-televised Premiere Ceremony to accept the award, he added that the win is especially meaningful because it “validates what I have known for over 50 years: John Williams\u2019s influence on culture and music is immeasurable and his artistry and legacy is unrivaled; I am proud to be associated with Laurent’s beautiful film.”<\/p>\n Spielberg now joins an elite group of just 21 individuals to achieve the EGOT\u2014a term first popularized by actor Philip Michael Thomas in 1984, though composer Richard Rodgers technically achieved the feat back in 1962. Past winners include Audrey Hepburn, Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Viola Davis.<\/p>\n
