Groundhog Day is Monday, and the furriest forecaster will soon tell Americans whether we have six more weeks of winter or an early spring.<\/p>\n Where can you watch Pennsylvania groundhog Punxsutawney Phil make his very serious, very official prognosis? Here’s what to know.<\/p>\n Groundhog Day occurs Feb. 2, 2026. This year, the celebration falls on a Monday.<\/p>\n A livestream of Punxsutawney Phil’s forecast begins at 6 a.m. Phil typically makes his prediction after 7 a.m., according to Delaware Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n A livestream of Punxsutawney Phil’s forecast is available to watch on Visit Pennsylvania’s website at\u00a0visitpa.com\/live-stream-phils-prediction<\/a>.<\/p>\n The festivities\u00a0take place at Gobbler\u2019s Knob<\/a>\u00a0in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, which is located about 80 miles from Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n Ohio’s groundhog, Buckeye Chuck, will also make his prediction Feb. 2, live from the Marion County Fairgrounds Colosseum starting at 7 a.m.<\/p>\n It will be streamed on the Buckeye Chuck fan Facebook page<\/a>, according to 1490 WMRN-AM<\/a> in Marion.<\/p>\n In theory, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, we can expect six more weeks of winter weather. If Phil doesn’t see his shadow, we can expect an early spring.<\/p>\n Groundhog Day is rooted in the Christian holiday\u00a0Candlemas<\/a>, the midway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. During Candlemas, Christians would light candles to predict how long winter would last.<\/p>\n The first official Groundhog Day was held Feb. 2, 1887, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
