She was 26. <span class=\"credit\">The Voice Nigeria \/ YouTube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nwangene was sleeping in her apartment in the Nigerian capital city of Abuja when she was awoken by a pain in her leg, her friend <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c77k0nlvx3yo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told BBC Africa.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The young singer rushed to a local clinic that had no antivenom to treat the bite, before she was transferred to a hospital.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWhile they were trying to stabilize her, she could not speak but she could make hand gestures.
