Follow live Grammys coverage<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n The Grammy Awards in Los Angeles proved to be a political hot spot, with at least a dozen artists \u2014\u00a0including Billie Eilish and Olivia Dean \u2014 making some form of statement against the Trump administration’s immigration operations across the country. <\/p>\n Justin and Hailey Bieber, Carole King, Teddy Swims, Joni Mitchell, Finneas, Eilish<\/a>, Samara Joy<\/a>, <\/a>Lachi<\/a> and Kehlani all wore pins that read \u201cICE OUT.\u201d<\/p>\n Bon Iver wore a bright orange whistle<\/a> on his lapel to honor \u201cobservers\u201d in Minneapolis, who he said patrol the streets and blow their whistles when Immigration and Customs Enforcement is near to protect their neighbors and communities. <\/p>\n Last month, two American protesters<\/a> in Minneapolis were fatally shot by federal agents<\/a> who were carrying out immigration operations in the city. Their deaths have amplified calls for ICE to leave Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Chicago and other cities where immigration raids have taken place. <\/p>\n Later in the show, Eilish and her brother, Finneas, accepted the Grammy for song of the year and took their short moment onstage to address immigration. <\/p>\n \u201cNo one is illegal on stolen land,\u201d Eilish said in her acceptance speech. \u201cIt\u2019s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I just, I feel really hopeful in this room.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cAnd I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting and our voices really do matter, and the people matter.\u201d <\/p>\n She kept speaking, but the broadcast bleeped out the rest of her message, seemingly because she used profanity. She and Finneas then returned to their seats. <\/p>\n The pair were accepting an award for Eilish\u2019s song \u201cWildflower\u201d off her 2024 album \u201cHit Me Hard and Soft.\u201d <\/p>\n Dean, fresh off a win for best new artist, also praised immigrant families in her acceptance speech early in the night.
