A lively new music group has been given a boost thanks to a donation.<\/p>\n

Members of South Holland District Council have supported The All Included Music Project (AIMP) – a new music group destined to create an accessible and inclusive environment for everyone to explore, create and enjoy music – with an \u00a3875 grant.<\/p>\n

AIMP was founded last year by Weston<\/a> resident Chris Dark after an accident.<\/p>\n

Chris found comfort in his love for music and has been able to connect with others at the group.<\/p>\n

With help from Coun Andrew Woolf, the council was able to offer \u00a3875 to help kickstart AIMP.<\/p>\n

The group now has over 200 members and holds regular Open Mic Nights at The Royal Mailcart in Spalding.<\/p>\n

At a recent AIMP meeting, it was clear how successful the group had been in progressing.<\/p>\n

Coun Woolf said: \u201cI knew Chris before his accident, a very active man.\u201d<\/p>\n

He has thanked Chris for his voluntary litter-picking work around Weston and local areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter hearing Chris\u2019s story and how he wanted to see if people also found sanctuary in music, I was more than happy to help.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thank Councillors Mark Le Sage, David Ashby, Gary Taylor, Allan Beal, Sam Chauhan, Anthony Casson and Nanette Chapman for supporting AIMP through their ward budgets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chris made an emotional speech, commenting that \u201cfrom the hardest part of my life came AIMP.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stated that AIMP has a number of future plans, including a children\u2019s AIMP, a neurodiverse festival, music lessons, family open mics and continuing to support local grass root bands.<\/p>\n
