Savannah Guthrie<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Today<\/em><\/a> cohosts are thinking about her family as her mom, Nancy Guthrie<\/strong><\/a>, has been reported missing.<\/p>\n During the Monday, February 2, broadcast, Sheinelle Jones<\/strong> and Craig Melvin<\/strong> introduced the \u201cdeeply personal story\u201d and shared a statement from Savannah, 54, and her family.<\/p>\n \u201cOn behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom,\u201d the statement read. \u201cWe thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department at 520-351-4900.\u201d<\/p>\n Footage began playing of Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos<\/strong> speaking to reporters on Sunday and stating, \u201cThis is very concerning to us. We don\u2019t typically get the sheriff out at a scene like this. But it\u2019s very concerning what we\u2019re learning from the house. And so we\u2019ll just continue. The detective\u2019s homicide team is out right now looking at the scene as well.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked whether foul play was suspected, Nanos shared that the possibility could not be \u201cruled out\u201d at this time. The sheriff went on to note that there were \u201csome concerns\u201d <\/a>about what was found at Nancy\u2019s home, prompting authorities to call in search and rescue and criminal investigation teams. Helping the search are volunteers on the ground, drones, dogs and a helicopter.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve pretty much just thrown everything at this that we can,\u201d Nanos added. \u201c[Nancy] is 84 years old and is not of good physical health, and so naturally that\u2019s a great concern.\u201d<\/p>\n Nanos noted that Nancy has a \u201csound mind,\u201d but there may be other limitations with her physical mobility. \u201cWe\u2019ll be at this all night, processing the house,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n News broke on Sunday, February 1, that Nancy was reported missing<\/a> by her family in Tucson, Arizona, around noon, according to the Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department.
