A search is currently underway to find Today<\/em><\/a> show host Savannah Guthrie<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s mother, Nancy Guthrie<\/strong>, who has been reported missing.<\/p>\n

The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department confirmed the news on Sunday, February 1, sharing a missing person report<\/a> via X. Nancy was described as a \u201cvulnerable adult\u201d who was last seen \u201cat her residence\u201d within Arizona\u2019s Catalina Foothills area on the evening of Saturday, January 31. The report noted that it is \u201cunknown what clothing she may be wearing.\u201d<\/p>\n

In additional coverage from local news station KOLD, it was revealed that a family member<\/a> grew concerned about Nancy. (Along with Savannah, Nancy shared daughter Annie and son Camron with late husband Charles, who died at age 49 from a heart attack.)<\/p>\n

According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, \u201cconcerning circumstances found\u201d at Nancy\u2019s home led to homicide detectives getting involved in the search. Savannah\u2019s family confirmed in a statement that they are \u201cworking closely with local law enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n

A family member called 911 to report Nancy was missing after she was last seen<\/a> on January 31. The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department later referred to Nancy as a \u201cvulnerable adult.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sheriff later noted in a press conference that Nancy has \u201cno cognitive issues at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s very alert, she\u2019s of good, sound mind,\u201d he said, adding Nancy is \u201cnot in good\u201d physical health. \u201cI hope we find her safe and sound, but we can\u2019t ignore what\u2019s in front of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Do Authorities Suspect Foul Play?<\/h2>\n

Nanos acknowledged there were \u201csome concerns\u201d about what was found at Nancy\u2019s home. When asked whether foul play was suspected in Nancy\u2019s disappearance, Nanos clarified that he was \u201cnot ruling it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve pretty much just thrown everything at this that we can,\u201d Nanos added as search and rescue and criminal investigation teams were called in to help. Drones, dogs and a helicopter were also being used to search for Nancy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to get right to what is a deeply personal story for us,\u201d Melvin said. \u201cNancy Guthrie, Savannah\u2019s beloved mother, has been reported missing in Arizona.\u201d<\/p>\n

Savannah\u2019s statement noted: \u201cOn behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom.
