\u201cSinners<\/a>\u201d filmmaker Ryan Coogler<\/a> has been named \u201cCreative of the Year\u201d by the Creative Collective NYC, the innovative organization behind the CultureCon conference.<\/p>\n

The Oscar-nominated filmmaker, producer and founder of Proximity Media<\/a> leads the Creative Collective\u2019s 2026 Creative Class, which celebrates Black culture-shifters whose influence spans tech, social good, art, entertainment and fashion industries.<\/p>\n

Coogler\u2019s latest film, the period vampire thriller \u201cSinners<\/a>,\u201d starring frequent collaborator Michael B. Jordan<\/a>, is the very definition of culture-shifting. The movie has become a global phenomenon, earning a massive $368 million at the worldwide box office and the most Academy Award nominations in history, with 16. As such, Coogler is the second individual to be named creative of the year, following last year\u2019s inaugural honoree, Grammy-winning rapper Doechii<\/a>.<\/p>\n
