RIO RANCHO, N.M. \u2014 A new cultural phenomenon is taking over Rio Rancho. BobaCatch<\/a>\u00a0isn\u2019t your typical arcade, it\u2019s a piece of Asian pop-culture right in the middle of the metro.<\/p>\n \u201cBobaCatch started as a small family dream, just trying to provide a space for kids, families,\u201d co-assistant manager Alexis Ngo said.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not just another arcade either; it\u2019s the first of its kind in our state.\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002<\/p>\n \u201cWe are the first Korean inspired Ramen Bar in New Mexico. It\u2019s all self serve,\u201d Ngo continued.<\/p>\n Most of it\u2019s features are from overseas from the ramen to the boba bar, which is made up of ingredients direct from Taiwan.<\/p>\n \u201cIt feels like we\u2019re really pioneering an entirely new form of entertainment in New Mexico,\u201d Ngo said.<\/p>\n BobaCatch opened in the old Rio Rancho hastings building last week.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cMy experience has just been crazy. There has been so many people that have showed up, even before we officially had the grand opening,\u201d co-assistant Anthony Triolo said.<\/p>\n Owners said people waited in line hours before they opened the doors and many of them are still waiting to get a taste, sip and catch because of occupancy restrictions.<\/p>\n Ngo and Triolo said the goal is for everyone to be a winner and that\u2019s exactly what we found.<\/p>\n 6-year-old Maya Quintana rated BobaCatch 100 out of 10. She had already won three prizes in about 20 minutes and said she planned on hitting up at least three more machines.<\/p>\n \u201cYou want to come back again?\u201d Jason Quintana asked his daughter, Maya. \u201cYeah since she\u2019s the boss, we\u2019re definitely gonna be back again.\u201d<\/p>\n You can buy tokens, boba tea and ramen separately or buy packages<\/a>\u00a0which start at $9.99.<\/p>\n If you need a birthday idea, BobaCatch also hosts parties.<\/a><\/p>\n
