The Celebrity Traitors<\/a> might be the most sought-after show to be on right now, but it turns out there\u2019s one whole group of people who aren\u2019t welcome anywhere near the Scottish castle.<\/p>\n

Charlotte Crosby has claimed there\u2019s a strict \u201cno reality stars\u201d rule in place for Celebrity Traitors, meaning she\u2019s effectively banned from signing up, for now, at least.<\/p>\n

The celebrity spin-off of the BBC hit was a huge success, pulling in massive audiences and somehow ending with Alan Carr winning the whole thing<\/a> despite barely being able to say the word \u201cFaithful\u201d without laughing. With 14.9 million people tuning in, Celebrity Traitors has quickly become one of the most wanted gigs in showbiz.<\/p>\n

But despite its popularity, Charlotte says the door is firmly closed to people like her.<\/p>\n

The former Geordie Shore star told The Sun <\/a>there\u2019s an industry-wide rule stopping reality TV stars from being cast on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to do that but you do know they\u2019ve got a no reality rule. That is a genuine fact,\u201d she said. \u201cMy agent is on the line and he will confirm. They take no reality stars. A lot of shows have this rule. I\u2019m A Celebrity used to have this rule.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlotte added that she thinks the rule will only last so long, though.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gets to the point where they\u2019ve obviously run out of big names so they have to start delving into reality,\u201d she explained. \u201cSo they\u2019ll have this rule for maybe three or four series and then they might have to break the mould a bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celebrity Traitors\u2019 first series was praised for its stacked line-up, which included the likes of Jonathan Ross and Stephen Fry, helping cement the show as a prestige booking rather than a reality free-for-all.<\/p>\n

Series two is already on the way and set to air later this year, with names like Danny Dyer, Ruth Jones and Bob Mortimer all rumoured<\/a> to be in the mix.<\/p>\n

However, Charlotte isn\u2019t thrilled that influencers and content creators don\u2019t appear to be held to the same standards.<\/p>\n

Despite the alleged \u201cno reality star\u201d rule, YouTuber and content creator Niko Omilana was cast in the first series, although he also became the first person to be eliminated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey take all of these content creators who have no idea how to make television,\u201d Charlotte said. \u201cFor us reality stars, it\u2019s a kick in the teeth. Let me tell you, we are the bread and butter of TV and we feel disowned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, she\u2019s confident the tide will eventually turn back in her favour.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we\u2019ll get back there. They\u2019ll call for us because you\u2019ll always need a good reality TV star,\u201d she added, before making it clear she\u2019s ready whenever that happens. \u201cAs soon as they do, I will be there with my f**king cloak.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlotte is no stranger to celebrity competition shows, having previously appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and I\u2019m A Celebrity\u2026 Get Me Out Of Here!,\u00a0making her frustration with the rule all the more understandable.<\/p>\n

And if she\u2019s desperate to play Traitors sooner rather than later, there are other versions of the show that lean heavily into reality TV casting.<\/p>\n

The US version is packed with familiar reality faces, including Love Island UK stars Maura Higgins and Ekin-Su C\u00fclc\u00fclo\u011flu. So if Celebrity Traitors won\u2019t budge just yet, there\u2019s always the American castle waiting.<\/p>\n

The BBC have declined to comment.<\/p>\n
