Broadcast Pair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-featured-image-rec\">\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/rbr.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4432-e1732037593260.jpeg\" data-caption=\"Kansas City, Mo.\"><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kansas City, Mo.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>KANSAS CITY, MO. \u2014 There will be a second year of broadcast television coverage of the Major League Baseball franchise that won the 1985 World Series and has enjoyed a renaissance amid negotiations to build a new stadium in the Power and Light District.<\/p>\n<p>A refreshed partnership is now in place as Spring Training ramps up ensuring\u00a0<strong>Gray Media-<\/strong>owned <strong>KCTV-TV <\/strong>and <strong>KSMO-TV <\/strong>in Kansas City remain limited over-the-air broadcast partners with the <strong>Kansas City Royals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To be clear, the majority of the Royals\u2019 games will remain on pay television. For Gray, \u201cselect\u201d Royals games will air on either KCTV or KSMO in addition to broadcast partners in 18 DMAs that are within the territorial rights of the Royals.<\/p>\n<p>Among the telecasts the Gray Media stations will air are the Royals\u2019 home opener at their current longtime home, Kauffman Stadium, on March 30 against the Minnesota Twins.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the first time since 2007 that a Royals home opener will be broadcast for free over-the-air in Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 10 regular-season Royals games will air on Gray Media\u2019s K.C. stations. Barring any late changes, the expected broadcast schedule includes:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 April 3 \u2013 vs. Milwaukee Brewers<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 April 24 \u2013 vs. Los Angeles Angels<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 May 22 \u2013 vs. Seattle Mariners<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 June 12 \u2013 vs. Houston Astros<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 June 19 \u2013 vs. St. Louis Cardinals<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 July 17 \u2013 vs. San Diego Padres<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 August 7 \u2013 vs. Chicago Cubs<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 August 21 \u2013 vs. Detroit Tigers<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>\u00a0 September 7 \u2013 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (Labor Day)<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to partner with the Royals again in 2026 to provide free over-the-air Royals games to a championship fan base here in Kansas City,\u201d said <strong>Curtis Miles, <\/strong>GM of KCTV-TV <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/rbr.com\/grays-k-c-duo-gets-a-new-leader\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">for the last three years<\/a>. \u201cThis partnership exemplifies our commitment to bringing quality sports entertainment to the community we serve, and we\u2019re proud to also highlight the exceptional work the Royals do to make Kansas City better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Royals President of Business Operations <strong>Cullen Maxey<\/strong> expressed enthusiasm for the expanded partnership, saying, \u201cWe know that KCTV5 helped bring the personalities and talents of our exciting team to a broader audience, so we\u2019re thrilled to continue and grow our partnership.
