And with the new success came more eyes on her, something that inspired her new mockumentary, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/films\/the-moment\"><em>The Moment<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Charli, real name Charlotte Aitchison, told <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/charli-xcx-brat-era-audience-the-moment-interview-1236171256\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Billboard<\/em><\/a> in a video interview on Monday (February 2) that the Aidan Zamiri-directed film, in which she plays a fictionalised version of herself, was inspired by the increase in fame and publicity \u2018Brat\u2019 prompted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d been this relatively niche artist, and then had suddenly been opened up to this huge new audience, some of whom really connected with me, some of whom only connected with aspects of me, some of whom liked me, but didn\u2019t really get me,\u201d she said. \u201cHow much you\u2019re under scrutiny, in the spotlight, being listened to, watched, is a really interesting thing. It made me so acutely aware of how hard that transition can be.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Moment | Official Trailer HD | A24\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Pxqhi7Sgvu8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>They filmed the movie over the course of 29 days, Charli explaining: \u201cEvery single weekend, we would just go out and party. Sometimes Aidan would just blast <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/the-prodigy\">The Prodigy<\/a> whilst they were setting up a shot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Brat\u2019 was released in June 2024, two years after Charli\u2019s previous album \u2018<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/charli-xcx-crash-review-3183846\">Crash<\/a>\u2019, and it topped the charts in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and her native UK, as well as reaching Number Three in the US. Per review aggregator <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/browse\/albums\/score\/metascore\/all\/filtered\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metacritic<\/a>, it became the highest-rated album of 2024 and is currently the 15th-highest-rated of all time.<\/p>\n<p><em>NME<\/em> <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/lists\/end-of-year\/best-albums-2024-3818995\">named \u2018Brat\u2019 the best album of 2024<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/charli-xcx-brat-review-lyrics-tracklist-3762875\">gave it a four-star review upon its release<\/a>, writing: \u201cGrowing pains, grief and aching doubts come alongside self-confidence, celebration and the knowledge of the place XCX holds in the musical landscape \u2013 indeed, she kicks off \u2018360\u2019 with the knowing: \u2018I went my own way and I made it \/ I\u2019m your favourite reference baby\u2019. Indeed, ahead of <em>The Moment<\/em>\u2018s premiere, she <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/charli-xcx-says-shes-really-wanting-brat-to-stop-ahead-of-the-moment-premiere-3925330\">said she\u2019s \u201creally wanting \u2018Brat\u2019 to stop\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As well as working on<em> The Moment<\/em>, her soundtrack album for Emerald Fennell\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/films\/wuthering-heights\"><em>Wuthering Heights<\/em><\/a> comes out on February 13. Last week, she <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/charli-xcx-shares-wuthering-heights-soundtrack-tracklist-featuring-new-sky-ferreira-collab-3926510\">revealed the full tracklist for the first time<\/a>, and it includes a new collaboration with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/sky-ferreira\">Sky Ferreira<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She was recently <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/charli-xcx-on-chances-of-recording-james-bond-theme-i-dont-think-i-am-built-for-that-3926749\">asked about the possibility of recording a <em>James Bond<\/em> theme<\/a>, too, but said she doesn\u2019t think she\u2019s \u201cbuilt\u201d for it. During an appearance on <em>The Julia Cunningham Show<\/em>, she said: \u201cI think I probably sing with too much AutoTune to do a James Bond,\u201d before adding, \u201cNever say never.
